Root CM10 progress Update Thread

I'm very sure anyone can fix their data by just simply going into Settings > More... > Mobile Networks and then choosing the Network Mode as "Global", which will set it to "LTE/CDMA". After that, use "LTE On/Off" or any app that goes into the phone's testing settings, then switch the preferred network mode to "LTE Only" and then "LTE/CDMA". It should switch back and forth from 1X to 4G. It's worked for me, but I haven't had such good signal strength lately, so I leave it on 1X or disable service overall unless I need it.

But now there's another issue. This camera issue is truly bugging me >-< Ahah, just saying.

Hopefully what I said on how to fix LTE was easy to understand, though(:

Something in the settings makes it change though, I've finally got mine to stick on 4G, but now if I get out of 4G range and into 3G, 4G never comes back on and I have to do the radio trick.
 
That's surprising. No matter how bad my signal strength is, my phone ends up hitting 1X (sadly no 3G here and I'm in one of the major markets) and then switching to LTE. I was on the phone the night I was on 1X. I switched to LTE, the call didn't end, but it didn't switch to a different network to continue handling the call. It always stood on LTE.

Hmm. Hoping he could also find a way to fix the camera. MMS and other issues aren't anything because I don't use them or I don't plan on using them.

Unless someone's willing to help me research and hopefully find something?
 
Hey, I have a phone with a similar CPU/board. We have been stuck for months. I was wondering if you could tell me how you fixed your hardware accelerated video and your 4g. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I may have found a fix for the GPS. I will test it in the morning and post how to do it if it works.

It sorta works. Have you tried using Google navigation or ingress or any other app that uses precise location? I can't get it to work. It won't get a location fix fast enough and is very laggy. I found something to do that fixes it but i don't want to post it yet because I want to make sure it works properly with said apps. Before I did it I couldn't even get a location fix sitting still. After I did it I got one in about 2 seconds inside a building.
 
I'm not using cm10 at the moment. But when I was using it, I had no problem with the GPS besides having no icon in the status bar.
 
Well camera been fix too I been try to contact totlth to tell him how to fix and make a build but I cant find him now do it a build but my WiFi was get it broke I am do it a flesh build for change let see if come well I may upload
 
hi all, ive been following this thread for a while, spent all night reading up to catch up lol first off HUGE thank you to totlth for taking your time out of your own personal life to make this happen for us droid users, YOU ARE THE MAN im super excited for the finished product because i for one am fed up with ics, i cant even tether atm which is one of the biggest things i need in a phone, secondly and as my title states, where can i get the gapp files to test this rom? and could anyone give me tips on how to install roms for our phone? i want to know if theres specific things i need to do? or do i just throw the rom in my sd card and boot it with rom manager? id like to test cm10 sometime today so if anyone could get back to me as soon as possible id greatly appreciate it. once a gain big thanks to totlth and also to dadcup and everyone else that kept this project going. i wish i could help but i feel id break more than id fix lol im going to school for computer information techology ^.^ so maybe in time ill be able to help lol
 
thanks for the gapps link and oh okay thanks for the info, this is my first time flashing a custom rom so idk anything lol, and im not sure what i have, i downloaded cmtester9, cwmrecovery, but im not sure if its a good dl cus when i try to use teminal to boot it like i was told on the website i got it from it keeps giving me a "directory/file not found" error, i also have the 6031 recovery from the op. thank you for your help
 
also when you say boot into recovery do you mean the whole volume up + power or are you talking about something else, and if you could recommend a good app for backing up my data id appreciate it
 
Well, if anything, I used MobileGo to back up my apps, music, contacts and text messages if that means anything. It's available on PC. And to go into Recovery, use the Volume up + Power.
