Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

Starting to think so myself. I went up by the Wendy's where I work, where I always have LTE, and... no LTE lol.

I have been on the phone with support off and on for the last 4 hrs. I'm still stuck at 3G. A few things that support have said have been leading me to believe that something gets triggered in their system that flags the account as not having an authorized device on it.

just flash the APN using recovery after reboot go to playstore download this free app (change APN) open then go where it says APN type whatever you have there change it to that default, admin, supl, mms, fota, hipri
That's it,that's what working for me
And sorry for my English as it not my first language:cool:

OK this update and last have both made my 4G weird. It connects only after I mess with it a little, and it does this every time I disconnect from 4G. I can open the Change APN app or toggle airplane mode and then it will connect, but not til then.

This is fine except this happens every time I leave WiFi. So walking across campus every building I pass it connects to the WiFi and then disconnects but won't connect to the 4G again until I toggle airplane mode or open the change APN app.

Why?

Mine work fine it does that sometimes maybe 2 to 3 time a day but the reality is that cm12 not fully official for many devices 4g will not 100% stable..well at least now u have 4g lte:rolleyes:

This is great, except it doesn't work for everyone. Every single time I tried the Change APN app in CM12 it said something like "apn settings not available for this user". The APN fix also had no effect. There is no universal fix for anything in this phone.

Dirty flashed to the latest build. Play store force closes right before a downloaded app installs. What videos i played worked in the last build do not work in this current one. Also i was using firefox, just reading, then my phone shuts off. Went to restart it but it was stuck in a bootloop and the white dialog box that usually says android is upgrading app 1 of 130 or whatever shows up for a split second and disappears and it repeats. So i backed up everything, did a clean flash of the latest build, rebooted and let it sit, then rebooted to recovery to recover. Still a no go, i figured i'll just restore Data and still the same bootloop. So wiped, clean flash latest build again, install the APN fix for virgin and my signal will drop in and out and i have no data. Phone worked great with the previous build and i had no problems using it as a daily driver. Also if it matters my phone's front and rear camera works great with this rom.

Those APN fixes can be rolled into this ROM, so even if you don't have access to the APN settings (this seems to happen to me sporadically, not sure why yet) they'll work. It's just that the default APNs that come with CM12 don't have correct values for some providers (Ting and Virgin Mobile always required tweaking for me).

For which provider are you trying to enable? It'd be nice if we could get some info here on those who have successfully LTE'd, which provider and which version of the phone they use.

^-- that seems to be a common problem for CM12.1. Every build I've done of raw CM12.1, Blisspop, Pac-rom, Vanir on the G2 -- they all seem to end up doing that (and those were all clean installs). I've actually not had that happen on the Volt yet, not on any of the builds here.

I've been getting deep sleep issues lately. I applied the fix, but my phone seems to still not want to wake up, forcing me to hold down the power button until it reboots. After it reboots, I'll get the Android is upgrading dialog. Also, sometimes when I reboot, I'll get a message that Google Play Services has crashed. I've set my minimum frequency to 300 MHz. We'll see if that fixes my deep sleep issue.

Something odd I noticed on the 4/9 build: I've got a glass screen protector on, and when I plug the phone in, the back and menu buttons become almost unresponsive (until I either unplug it or take the protector off.) Even weirder, they work fine on the latest decaf cm11 build, so... not entirely sure what's going on. (Also, side note: the option to enable the nav bar seems to be missing, at least as of the 4/9 build.)

Alarm clock app not showing alarms stored on SD card internal or external
I put the file in system/media/audio/alarms and rebooted and then it was there.
Why can't I put a custom alarm tone

So I just did a clean install of the 04/17 build, and things are starting to behave more normally. This rom is starting to look more like Lollipop. Thanks Bad_MOFO_33 for all your hard work you've put into this rom.

Virgin Mobile here, I have LTE it just doesnt reconnect by itself after disconnecting.

I had the same issues here where lte would not reconnect after WiFi was on, just an ! Next to signal.

I have deleted all but the 1 APN I am using, and went to system/etc and edited the apn-config XML as well...just deleted everything except my APN info.

I have been running this way for the last 12 hours or so and have had zero issues reconnecting to lte..

I'm on Virgin
Flashed ROM gapps and virgin APN fix before I modified anything.

Hope this works for someone else...

The last main issue I have is the CPU resetting. If you try to change the minimum CPU to 384, it seems to randomly reset. I'm wondering if that's because of the fact that it's a quad core and it's only setting one cpu?

The reason I care is I'm getting terrible lag sometimes to the point that my phone freezes. I'm having to reboot a couple times a day.

Most likely need to clean your internal storage.

But... Download No Frills CPU from store and check this box in its settings. Then set your values

Use root browser
Goto system apps and delete nfcnfc? Something like that.
Then reboot
I just froze the NFC service in Titanium Backup. We'll see what's up after that.

Edit: 90 minutes later, so far so good. No more battery drain. I'll update my post later this evening. On another note, I think that disabling the NFC service may have fixed the issues with my phone randomly not connecting to 3G/LTE. Let's cross our fingers!
