Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

I think the dpi changes are good they allow more screen space. I also found if anyone has trouble with chat head lower your dpi. My guess is that messenger only shows chat heads based on screen size because if its too big it might cause errors.

Hi everyone!
Anyone else having issues with the rear camera preview showing green tint (and photos ending up green tinted?)

Stock camera crashes, So I installed Camu, Google Camera, and also Open Camera (for more control)
All of them show the camera working but with a green tint. It's almost as if White balance or hue/sat settings are skewed.

I shot a few pictures to test and in the process I found that if i focus on a dark area and let the phone auto adjust, it will (for a moment) read the colors as best as it can. Then I would motion the camera where I want to shoot. Not a real solution but a clue as to what may be wrong.

Here are the pics snapped (i know... not photogenic but its a sample)

After opening any camera, this is what the tint looks like:

So, I then point at a dark area and let the camera auto adjust.

After it adjusts, i move the camera and shoot again. the colors look better...

Why? I dunno. But it quickly adjusts back to green.

Lets try that again...

And quickly back to position to shoot: https://goo.gl/photos/zpkbyxjaceTE9pHn6

Device: LG-LS740
CM version: 12.1-20150623-unofficial-x5
Android: 4.1.1
Kernel: 3.4.1-Quarx2k

Hmm... I tried adjusting filters and white balance and iso settings with no real luck. If anyone has anything else I could try please do let me know. Not sure what other relevant info can help but I'd love to assist in correcting this.

Good looking out thank you. Were there any notes attached?
looking into it now. Thank you.

//EDIT here's what im finding
(flashed update 20150726-unofficial-x5.zip)
+ Booted fine.
- rear cam green tint problem still present on stock cam app.
(rebooting)
(signed into wifi)
(installing gapps modular micro)
(applying apn fix universal r2)
(rebooting), (rebooted ok) (optomizing apps (17))
- keyboard is now crashing (replacing apk with swiftkey to get by)
+keyboard working now.
(signing into google account)
(installed camu and Open camera)
- green tint on rear camera still present in stock app, camu, and Open Camera.
- LTE does not appear to be working out the box.

(switched from APN1 to APN2 EHRPD), (waiting to see if it picks up signal)
(rebooting)
- No LTE signal yet. (trying to find where to force activation / PRL update)
(double checked and system is set to permissive)
(keyed in *#*#72786*#*# into the dialer to try and force activation. No luck)
(brb)
//canceled.

Switching back to ZV5_Rooted_Deodex_Full.zip
I'll try this rom again at a later. It's looking promising.

you should try using the apn r1 universal fix. need to make sure you turn on airplane mode, sometimes it needs to be manually toggled a few times before it kicks in

I know it's not a "release" by any means. But the most recent upload, what is the change log?

Also, have you by chance narrowed down video recording issues yet? (Among the other issues that are known.)

Again, thank you for your superb work. I've dirty flashed the latest upload and only see some performance improvements thus far. No issues outside of the usual yet.

I'm using the newer update and from what I've noticed the updates to the Kernel are similar if not identical to blisspops

Running the newer update, video playback in Snapchat seems to be broken again. However, I did dirty flash. Will clean flash tomorrow and test the usuals out.

Lost some capabilities (such as Performance menu and video playback in Snapchat). But hot dang was it zippy fast. LOVE the Kernel Sanders kernel. Can't wait for the next release already! Had to go back to the 6/28 release for now.

P.S. Managed to find an old Lenovo with a 100GB hard drive that I did a fresh installation of Ubuntu on it. What are your hardware recommendations for compiling these releases? I'm going to hop back on the Android dev bandwagon and get to crackin some code in my spare time.

4 GB+ of RAM, at least 2 GHz processor, and around 200 GB~ of hard drive space. You can use a 100 GB drive, but you'll have considerably less space for caching, which will slow down your build times. Don't try if you don't have a fast processor, or the build will fail (tried it with an Acer C720 Chromebook clocked at 1.3 GHz, failed after two days). But hey, all the builders we can get are welcome.

In that case, I'll dual boot my primary computer. The Linux machine definitely does not meet those specs. Thank you!

Out of all honesty, I've noticed a huge performance drop on the new franko kernel...there's a HUGE amount of lag and I/O performance problems even when I set the Governor to Performance. This is also a problem on all the 5.1 ROMs especially blisspop, which is the worst of them all... I'll keep using the 6/28 Cyan update until a stable update comes out

I'm trying to flash the initial CM12.1 zip and I'm getting the error "E: error executing updater binary in zip 'externalsd(cm12filename)'" I tried on both the original root TWRP and the lollipop one. And I tried 2 different versions of CM12, same error. Can someone kindly explain what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it? It's greatly appreciated!

This is usually caused by dirty flashing over stock ROM. Do a factory reset...Then try flashing it
