Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

Okay I really want to install this rom but I'm still on the fence about certain things and I want know before I flash this. Does snapchat work? Or the camera? Since it runs on ART are there any problems with installing apps? How's the storage after flashing this? Is battery life affected? Do games work on this rom? Basically I just want to know the stable and unstable features of this rom..

If you have a backup handy, you can use twrp to restore the boot IMG from your backup
Thanks a bunch

I do not have a clue about snapchat, since I never use it...As for other features:
Front Camera Works flawlessly
No problems with installing apps
Rear Camera Still Has a Green Tint (And I think some quality reduction, as I seem to notice poorer quality images compared to stock ROM)
Storage depends on what GApps modular you use (Personally I use the full and remove the apps I don't need with ES File Explorer System App Remove)
Batter Life Depends on user preference. ex:

Higher Brightness = Quicker Batter Drain
Slower Window Animation = Poorer Performance and Battery Drain
Many other things can affect battery such as usage, applications, and wake locks

Games seem to work fine for me so I don't see why not

As for stability I say go with the 6/28 Update!

I'm having a weird problem (might just be me though, not sure)
Every SD card I pop in all the content I put on it eventually gets erased after a reboot (second card I popped in took about a week for it to erase itself).
I went through 3 different sd cards 1 16gb, one 32gb, and one 8gb, all the same problem.
I tried formatting with the phone but it still happens.
/Android/Obb stays fine though for some reason.
EDIT: Also happens with my internal storage too, except the folder /android/data/ is fine.

what do you mean gets erased after reboot? just from restarting the phone? Does it do the same from a power down and power up? Honestly sounds like a hardward issue with your phone. Ultimately all flash memory is doomed for failure but I don't see why this would occur after every single time the device was restarted.

I would try a different rom and see if the issue still occurs. If you still insist on using this rom then you may be installing improperly so I'd need to know how you went about flashing the rom.

Also what custom recovery are you using?

I am on Virgin Mobile, and can't make call or text after updating. When I call, I am getting the error message "the number or code you have dialed is incorrect." Data (LTE) works fine. What is the problem?

It doesn't happen with the stock rom.
Using twrp, did the typical factory wipe, format /data, and flashed the rom with the gapps and the boost apn fix
it happens after about a week of having an sd card in.
I'll try going back to the 6/28 update.

So I'm on Virgin Mobile & when I flash the CM12.1 lollipop rom I've noticed minutes on my $35 300 minute plan aren't being deducted, no lie & ya ready for this, before I came back to the Volt 2 weeks ago (bought a new one), I had the Tribute & I was rooted with twrp & running unjustified devs version of 5.0.1 lollipop rom & I had my $35 a month service free for 2 months! And when I finally couldn't use my Tribute anymore cuz I broke my screen and it gradually got worse, I bought my 2ndVolt & called Virgin to switch my service & # to my new Volt, they TD me my service was inactive since June 1!!! No lie! So has anyone ever had that much luck?

I have on virgin for about a year and they recently gave me "a gift" of unlimited minutes on the 35$ plan.... but it sounds like you've circumvented their network somehow, maybe APN settings. Can't beat free!
I didn't flash anything after that and for 2 months it kept wondering I must have honestly used 7 to 8 gigs of 4G a month, I download a lot of stuff & use it as a hotspot for my Chromecast & laptop! But yah they tried telling me I was lying that there was no way my phone worked for all that time cuz on there end I was out of service or inactive or however they labeled me![emoji1]

did you have to get a new number?

Hi, im not too familiar with the way that lg locks the ir blaster so bear with me please, but would it be possible to make a fix using using the the method that they used to let the default remote app control the blaster and have all ir commands from other apps be sent like that? im probably crazy but i figured i would share my idea.

Latest build should have most stagefright vulnerabilities taken care of. Will have another build up by end of this weekend to combat the latest exploits found.
Your the man @Bad_MOFO_33 !! I shattered the screen on my volt so I up the creek until I can get a replacement but when I do, I'll be back to flashing ROMs in no time hopefully. Thanks for the reply man. :)

If I flash the 6/28 update (over a previous version) should I expect it to act like a brand new flash? Is there another step I would have to do firs? I just tried and I can't tell if it flashed correctly. Thanks for any help!

Just wanted to say I had a lil cm guy icon yesterday, I should have screen shot it but stupid me lol but it was a bug report, never saw it before! It said something interesting but it didn't make sense to me at the time, but it said vulnerability or something, sending a report, which I sent thru my gmail account, but maybe it possibly has something to do with what your referring to? But I think this ROM is Awesome, no complaints from me, I get unlimited minutes & 4G data as long as I can keep it connected, but usually it stays connected! I flashed the virgin APN fix but I seem to have better luck choosing 3G & virgin APN ehrpd or whatever if I chose the top lte, it usually won't work first try, I have to play with them to get 4G going but like I said getting unlimited minutes & data is worth it, & I'm totally serious too, I flash back to the stock zv5 rooted backup and it said I had 270 minutes yesterday I used it 11_minutes than Iflashed back to cm12 lollipop & I must have made 100+ minutes more last night alone, & the data the virgin apk. That shows you your usage says I'm at 358mbs I've downloaded all 6 star wars movies over 4G last night like 6.8 gigs no lie! I honestly think it may have something to do with the data done right virgin Mobile as to regular Virgin Mobile! I have d.d.r. now for the last 5 months, regular Virgin the last 3 years and my tribute had 2 months of free service using unjustified devs version of cm12 lollipop! I had a fight with v.mobile when I switched my # to my new volt 3 weeks ago cuz they thought I was high cuz according to them I hadn't had service since June 1, I last paid may1! So needles to say I paid $35 to turn my volt on but something's fishy with this cuz 2 different phones and I changed my # twice and it still worked! Crazy but true! What do you all think?

If you flash it over and older version you should expect some performance issues. Although it depends on the updates that were made. It's best to make a backup with Titanium backup and then wipe and flash

I flashed this and I wasn't able to set anything up because after it booted up, it kept saying the AOSP keyboard has stopped...disappointing

add a .apk keyboard of your choice to your sd card before hand - skip everything on the setup - go to file manager- find the apk file- install- check unknown sources- install- select keyboard through input settings in settings -check if it works- go through setup again which you can do in the settings just by going to add account on the google one and do the rest like cyanogen accounts but u basically just need the google one

i need some help, whenever I try to edit my apns all i see in the section is "Access Point Name Settings are not available for this user" i am on the default user that is made when you set up the phone.
