you bet!...i want CM7 with the Blur notification bar...all the icons...the dock background and all the blue checkmarks and highlights and ill be in HEAVEN!

well thats what we're hoping for. he has it booted and fully functional. just ironing out the bugs and kinks. i'm sure his alpha testers found a lot and i bet there will be a lot of people in on the beta. it should be pretty stable by the time its released. its also noteworthy that apparently P3Droid is putting something together to sbf and flash CM7 in one simple process. perhaps thats one of the things they are waiting on for the release. they also said that once you have CM7 on your device, that you can go back and forth between it and GB without having to SBF.

yeah, there will be no need to SBF now...and apparently you are going to be able to flash back and forth between CM7 and .596 without any SBF'ing inbetween

They say the only thing holding them back right now is the mics wont work unless it's on speaker phone.

They are getting close! :D

Can someone explain to me, or point out, some benefits of CM?

I went through the website, and they only listed 3-4 features. Gestures on the lockscreen, some sound enhancer, etc. I didn't really see the big deal.

I read that it is a true AOSP experience, but what benefit does that provide besides quick updates and continued support?

I was wondering about particular features, UI or otherwise. I really see things like Sense 3.0's new lockscreen, etc. as features to be excited about.
 
Gps is working and he thinks he knows what he needs to do to get the mic problem fixed. Said he just got off work and he's about to get wired in to finish it.

Wouldn't be surprised at all by a release tonight.

Stayed up all night (1am pst) last night waiting for this and def dont mind waiting for this to come out tonight.

Apparently P3droid has created a zip file that will take you from any rom to CM7. I assume that means theyre really close. He posted a video of him flashing his X to CM7.
 
Heck... I've had a glitch before on my DX that my mic's went dead except when it was on Speakerphone... had to SBF to fix it... weird...
 
And of course I am going to NY for 5 days on thursday right when this is all going with CM... always my luck... was on vacation when the froyo leak came out...
 
Sweet! Will there be a download link available WHEN this hits, or do we have to be on a list for testing?
 
Okay, 1st -- I can't wait to get my hands on CM4DX. Loved CM on OG Droid! So excited!

2nd....doesn't anyone know what CVPCS stands for, if anything?
