Root Cm7 1.1

yay! new cm7 builds make me feel warm and fuzzy inside :D

Oooh new kernal sounds fun. Will be flashing this tonight. It says no data wipe is needed but should I still wipe dalvik and cache?
for what its worth, ive done the last couple updates with no data wipes and not had any prollem. however,if you have an issue,do a full wipe and reflash before pointing fingers at the rom. sometimes a no data wipe can have lil sm prollems, especially after you do several  (fond memories of nightly builds :D)

...every time there is a new release little android fairies take over my central nervous system and make me boot into recovery...

man there must be a bunch of them guys! they have the same affect on me :p

From RC0.3 to RC1.5.2 I have never done a full wipe and I've yet to experience any issues

May flash later tonight, let me know how it is working out for you, also rc 1.5.2 is up after he put up 1.5.1 i guess something messed up this time. 3 builds in a row.

1.5.2 feels faster than 1.4. I would definitely recommend flashing it. You should be good to go with just a caches wipe

Sounds good, will definitely try it like that first. Full wipes are tiresome. I wanted to try out the kernel posted by rhcp on rootzwiki, basically imo's kernel with tiat's volume fix. I also wanted to flash the TWRP recovery. I created a folder on my computer named "to flash tomorrow" because i don't have the energy or battery life to get that all accomplished before bed. Those three things are in it and i have a free day tomorrow, win for me!

Lol, I flashed 2 out of 3 of those today and was just thinking of trying that Imo mod. I've been pretty happy on Tiamat, but Imo kernels are my shit so I'm definitely going to try it, just a matter of when

I wiped totally for the first time in a long time just a day ago. Just wanted to clean things up a bit. This build is great, sticking with stock kernel for now as per slayher's config. Will prob change with new Tiamat at some point. But wipe should not be necessary with cm7.

edit: That being said, I flashed rhcp/imo's this morning. I can't help myself. Is there a 12 step program for the TB?

1.5.2 is running great, no data wipe, just did one with 1.4 and all is well.

RHCP's volume tweak on Imo's kernel is working great too. Its nice not having my volume maxed and being able to hear in the car with the windows down.

I hope Imo comes back from his sabbatical soon.. I haven't found a suitable replacement for his kernels yet. Tiamat is laggy and Kang Bang, both the BFS and CFS versions don't get along with my phone for some reason..

They're everywhere..

Even found me at the bar (thank God for auto spell correction.. ;) ) to tell me to flash 1.5.2 and I couldn't stop there so I threw in Imo/RHCPs kernel and thirdeye's theme for this build. :)

I remember seeing the kernel changed in the 1.5 builds, can anyone verify that it is 2.6.35.14 cyanogenmod+slayher@homebrewed #7?
Just want to make sure i flashed the right build and TWRP worked properly.

I can't confirm the kernel, but he did change the build number of 1.5.2 from "Thunderbolt" to GRJ90

thanks i read about that on rootz and it passed right over my head to ever check that. I figured if the stock kernel did change i am going to give it a day or two to settle in and see how it works for me, then try some other options.

im kind of boring with kernels in that i dont really OC or UV,but i have good luck with slayhers kernels. bettery life i think is a lil better with imos lean kernel than the previous homebrew, but otherwise my phone runs great with them. ill definately give it a couple days before flashing something else. im still torn between flashing this and staying with AOSP th3ory anotehr couple days.

the 1.5.2 download link on rootz isnt working :(

edit: nvm got it!! on rootz the md5sum is different then it is on goo onside me...
what one do i use?

if you downloaded from goo check the md5 sum for the file from there and if it matched use that one. Don't be like me and just completely not check the md5 for this build...oops.

Not sure if this belongs here, but since this thread has a bunch of crackflashers I figured it would get some eyeballs. Imo just put out a new kernel will all the latest in it, including the Tiamat sound fix and other stuff. Ok, ok.. here's the link.

[GB Kernel] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel (3.5.0GBtest 7/24/11, v3.5.11AOSP 8/7/11) - xda-developers

Thanks, my phone doesn't like tiamat's kernels for some reason, furtherest I gotten on Tiamat's would be a reboot when trying to restore backups from titanium, normally don't even get that far.

I have similar experience with Tiamat. yeahha, can you tell me what your voltages are for this Imo build? Mine were 50 mV higher than before after running speedtweak and selecting normal. It was almost as if speedtweak only changed the speeds and not the voltages like it used to.

I just do the speedtweak script, I don't mess with voltage, seems to have been working fine for me but I have not had a chance to flash this kernel and likely won't get to unitl tomorrow, I am at work for another 10.5 hours today and can't really use my phone.

Speedtweak is supposed to slightly undervolt when using normal per the description...and I saw no evidence of that when using Incredicontrol.

Yeah I know it is supposed to, I am not knowlegable enough with voltage tweaking to mess with it currently. Reading up on it and getting it down pat is on my to do list but I've got to find the time to do it first

I tried 3.5.11 and was having some issues, so back to 3.5.8 with RHCP's mod and all is well again.

With Speedtweak, I usually run 1.4 extreme and run the following voltages in system>etc>init.d>01VDD... with no problems.

245 @ 750
368 @ 800
768 @ 975
1024 @ 1075
1222 @ 1125
1408 @ 1175

I used to be able to drop 768-1408 another 25-50 but on AOSP ROM's it kept locking up and wasn't seeing any battery difference. I think the 245 @ 750 is really the only one that saves battery.

I flashed this but I didn't get gtalk with video, did I do something wrong?

No idea. Worked for me, but this package doesn't have the car home app and is not an official release of the 2.3.5 apps as some of them are still being updated like youtube and the search app.
Here is a link from goo-inside.me the packages they post have always worked for me.
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110729-signed.zip
Hopefully that works for you, i just flashed that package and it does have gtalk with video, i am trying to find someone to test it with right now to make sure it works.
