Bump...anyone?
In settings->about phone->memory info there is about 400+MB total and the available amount drops down sometimes below 100MB.
What I would like to know is why and what can i do to remedy this? I notice lag when it goes down and it is not fun![]()
when 7.0.4 comes out, will it have the newer kernel i heard about a couple weeks ago?
i have herd that it will have an updated kernel but i dont know how new it will be
if you want you can flash different kernels from the xda thread... i know i am in the chads incredikernel and its nice and smooth and i get about 20 hours of batt life with the 1700mv batt.
yeah i heard about flashing different kernels. the only reason i would want to is because sometimes when i press the power button the screen doesn't turn on/wake. is this a kernel issue chad's would fix?
running the most recent (5/22) update and when it booted up i was not prompted to sign in to google and all that jazz. This is my first installation of CM7.When I get to Accounts and Sync settings I have
(General Settings)
background data
Auto-Sync
(manage accounts)
blank
when I click add account
It sets me up for an "exchange" account.
What am I missing here?
How can I get rid of the CM lock screen? I'm using a WidgetLocker locl screen, but the CM lock screen is still there, too.
I am running CM 7.0.3 with Incredikernal. Over the past few days I have been experiencing more and more Force Closes all over the place including key android system components. Is anybody else getting this? Before this everything has been great with this rom/kernal combo. Any suggestions on a fix? Should I just flash the new nightly? Full wipe and reflash 7.0.3?
I've been having issues with this recently as well. My wife's phone (running CM7) did this yesterday. Not sure what the deal is or why this is happening simultaneously.
What I did was go into settings > accounts and sync > and I turned off all the syncs.
Then I went into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > and I cleared the data for Contacts and Google Services Framework
Unfortunately the problem reoccured on my phone today (not my wife's). So I went back, turned off all the syncs, then cleared the data for gmail, calendar, contacts, and google services framework.
So far, the FCs have stopped once again. Not sure how long this will work for. This used to happen in the past and I would just restore a nandroid backup. I'm sick of doing that and I would like a more permanent solution. After doing some googling, this is not an issue isolated to Incredibles and CM7; there are plenty of other phones with other ROMs that are getting this Google Services Framework error. Has something to do with all the cloud based syncing and something getting out of whack. Hope that helps someone. Cheers
Thanks for the response. I ended up doing a full wipe and reinstall. Everything is good for now. We'll see how long it lasts. If it happens again I'm gonna try you're method.
Has anyone else lost access to the verizon apps on the market (NFL mobile, My Verizon, etc.)? I'm currently running nightly 88 and haven't been able to access the Verizon apps for a few builds now.
i was just about to say that... and i would recommend everyone doing a full wipe and reinstall at least once a month it keeps the phone clean and running smoother i know i do it my self at least every other week and i rarely have force closes unless its LPP when the phone starts like everyone.
I would rather figure out what the cause of all the FCs is instead of just wiping every few weeks. IMO, it's a pain in the a... If you do a google search, there are plenty of other people with various phone/ROM combos who are experiencing the google services framework closing. I don't think that should be happening. I love Android, but this is annoying
well you also have the huge thing that when we flash a rom we always wipe and clean install between new Roms that is because of framework changes with in the new rom you are flashing
Now what we do on cm7 is just flash nightlys over one another and the small inner framework changes will compile and keep compiling And this causes problomes because the phone doesn't known what part of the framework to use so...
untill you start a new with a fresh framework you will get forcecloses unless you wipe the phone every once and awhile
Hope that helped explain it a little more man
I'm not running nightlies; I'm on CM7 stable and it's still happening. Like many here, I use my phone for work. I can't be looking up a medication and have my phone start FC'ing and going into boot loops. I'd like to be able to rely on my ROM in the long term. When it's time to change it, I wipe it. Otherwise, I shouldn't have to worry about the framework crapping out on me every other week. It's not the end of the world, just a major nuisance.
I hate to point out the obvious, but if you really need a bug-free OS (or almost bug free), perhaps going back to stock would be a better idea.
That said, I haven't fully wiped since about 63 or so and I'm on 89. I have gone back to using clockwork. I wipe dalvik, cache, and battery before I install the new rom. I then install it and install Chad's 4/19 kernel. I have very, very few problems. Pandora is the only thing I had force close several times but it has since gone away.
A bug free rom hardly exists. Even stock Verizon roms on various, if not all, devices are troubled with bugs. Even iCrap has bugs but fanboys wont admit that. Bottomline is that every computer (phone or otherwise) will have at least one bug. Right now the bug I'm experiencing is that my keyboard lags just slightly. The bug before that was that the capacitive keys weren't lighting up. I'll take those bugs over any carrier rom any day!
