Root CM7 Nightlies

Just flashed #5 over #4 and went alright. Everything seems to be working fine for me. Only thing I would like is a little better battery life. I have the Tiamat kernel and that seems to be better than stock. I'm sure it will get better as time passes.
 
Yes I use that and juice defender
On set cpu I only have one set for a screen off with min cpu and with power save
And juice I have it set to turn off data when the screen is off
 
Quick question, and I am sorry if this has been answered before, I searched the thread on XDA and could not seem to find an answer.

On every Gingerbread Rom I have ran (OMGB, Evervolv, and now CM7) when I wake my phone up my wifi disconnects then reconnects. I have my wifi sleep policy set to never, yet it still does this. It's a pet peeve of mine and it makes me not want to run this rom. Has anyone found a fix for this? I've posted about this before and never got an answer, so anything would be great, thanks!

It's happening on every single GB rom i'm running also. The new OMFGB is the first that i've tried that stays connected. However, the spell correction on the keyboard is horrendous to say the least.
 
yeah wifi is one of the things i dont use around school which i am at most of the time cuz of the pain or having to log in online every time i turn my phone so ... so it dosent bother me
 
6 is up.

By reports on XDA, it's snappier than previous versions, MMS videos work, and it appears to have fixed the FCs seen with vlingo.
 
Flashed #6 and GApps this morning. Everything was fine until I Flashed the Green Battery Circle. After I did that, my unlock screen go a screwed up. The Unlock slider is in the same position, lower right, but the indicator is backward (as though it needed to be swiped to the left). Only way I can access my phone is to swipe the Phone or Message indicators (good thing I enabled them). Also, the Circle is full with a "0" in the middle. Anyway, I'm going to Flash #6 back over and see if it resolves.

If I have a chance, I'll back it up from there and try the GB Circle again to see if it was just a faulty install, or the Rom's clash.

That happend to me to last night... Just re flash the rom and make make sure you have the verison for the 6 build... The framework has changed a bit from 5 - 6 so the build 5 mods will not work on 6

Awesome. Thanks guys. I flashed after that post and everything is fine. Thanks for the framework explanation. Only problem I have now is that Google Talk keeps failing to authenticate.

Is there an updated GApps?
 
I have installed #7 earlier today and i luv it, especially the theme chooser app! that way if u want the stock look which i do you can or u can go with the CM look or the other them on there u can choose for urself...its running great really smooth and fast!

Came back to cm after a few days of running senseless revolution. #7 is on my phone now I hate being addicted to flashing these nightlies. I am going to try to limit myself to one per week. That way I will probably hit some of the bigger changes.

I can't believe this is the best thread for the nighties. First of all could we have someone break down what ever change log that is out there into laymen terms? I'm running build #7 and have found no issues. I actually like it more than any other Rom thus far. (Myns RLS5, Milk Froyo 4.4 & MIUI roms nandroided) I know there are things missing, but I feel CM7 vs the other roms (stock htc sence included) is just cleaner, faster and just smoother.

I'd like to know whats missing and if we can get it back via download-able / side loading an apk. For instance, the one thing I am missing and want back is sprints visual voice mail... can I get an apk that will allow for this in CM7? If so, could a member of my community be kind enough to PM me the apk or PM me an email address so that I may respond in kind? I'm off to run errands and will research this later as well. Thanks guys!


What else is missing, what have you found added in say the latest nightly which I believe is build #11
