Root CM7 Random Issue Thread

Ok, so I have CM7 (rooted). And I'm not able to send pictures, to other people :/ it stays on "sending", but it never actually sends. I read somewhere to try the regular Messaging stock app, when sending pictures/mms. but that didnt work (I regularly use GO SMS). Any solution for this?

Dunce Hat Time

I finally successfully partitioned my SD card thru rom manager. Yay me.
However the gapps didn't go thru. (including the market)
And here's the kicker..

I forgot that i had deleted my nandroid backup. sigh. only me..
ok, is there anyway to salvage this?
I have all my other apps except gapps and go launcher.

What build? What gapps? And didnt I tell you to make a back up of everything? ;)

.
Im using: 2.3.5
Kernel 2.6. 29-pef
Mod cm7.2 -ascend- 09132011
Build 09132011

Yes, you did and its my own fault i know. i have done so much i forgot what i did prior.

I dl & flashed it. nothing. am i supposed to be doing anything besides the flash and reboot? wiping anything? fixing permissions?
I'm just flashing and rebooting.

also, i do still have the unpartitioned 2gb SD the phone came with which should still have everything on it.

could i put that back in and start over?

No you dont have to wipe anything. I dont have one clue on why you cant install the gapps to be honest. You could. But the sd card shouldnt matter for installing the gapps

i will be going back to the stock version of my phone i want to see if its faster in stock or in the version i have it right now and also because i can't send videos
since i updated to cm7 so till that gets fixed well if it does i will stay on stock then maybe come back to cm7, just one question, i have the file to make it go back to stock and i know the process and all but will everything get deleted?

why downgrade to something that is crap just to send videos, when you can attach them in gmail and send, but good look with stock...;)

It sounds like you have CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY 3.0.0.5 installed, which is OK,except for the SD-EXT problem you mentioned.

Install CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY 3.0.2.8 per the instructions in the ULTIMATE ASCEND CUSTOMIZATION GUIDE & your problem will be solved.
The instructions may be for another CWM RECOVERY,but, the steps are the same for all versions of CWM RECOVERY.

Also, you can install one CWM RECOVERY over another w/o any problems.
Plus, your CM7 ROM currently installed will be intact,no other steps are necessary & you should be good to go!

Thankyou. Y I installed clockworkmod 3.0.0.5. I will try that.

Installed this last night, it work beautifully, until I decided to test the GPS. GPS locks in and is turned on, GPS location is enabled in the settings so it isn't A-GPS. But it is showing my location acrossed town as being my precise location.

WTF?!?!?

Well By clearing the cache, rebooting, and standing outside, it fixed it.

But now I have another problem, no Wifi. Google was no help at all.

At first I thought it was Wireless Tether screwing it up, but I removed it, and it STILL has the same problem, I touch the Wifi icon to turn it on, it sits for about 10-15secs before just shutting off, it never fully turns on.

Tried clearing the Cache and rebooting, nothing, clearing the cache and shutting it down and removing the battery for a minute, still nothing

Have you tried going to Wifi Settings, and "Forget" the connection, then reboot, and connect?

No connections listed, deleted the wifi connections using Titanium, and rebooted, still no go.

Note that when I installed CM7, even though I told it to completely wipe everything before install, it still kept my apps, including Wireless Tether. Don't know if this could have caused this problem or not.

That's strange.. I have noticed that occasionally things tend to linger in the system. For instance, when I flashed the 913 build, it reverted the wallpaper to one I had a couple months ago and had since deleted...

Also, TiBU has cause Wi-Fi issues for me almost everything I've installed it. Since I stopped using it, Wi-Fi has worked flawlessly. I also stopped getting so many FC's and other errors. Root Explorer FTW!

PS: 'no connections listed' <That might be why you can't connect... ;-)
