Root CM7 RC4 Is Out

So, the toggles in the notification drop down, they were there, now their gone. I think it may have been because of the theme chooser, I went back to the theme it was on, but they didn't come back. Any idea's?

I rebooted, their all back now. Not sure if the theme chooser did it or not, I'll experiment with it. But in this case, a re-boot made them com back.

Ive got an odd one with rc2, every once in a while the buttons on the bottom (the app launcher, phone button, browser) just randomly disappear... other than that it seems to be working quite well for me. Any ideas on that disappearing button bar thing(sorry, i have no idea what its actually called)
:confused

it sounds like you are accidentally closing the launcher. If you swipe up on it will close.swiping down in the same spot will bring it back.

I had this happen on nightly #32 once as well. Reboot seemed to take care of it.

looks like the problem I had with the email notification was fixed from a reboot. The phone seems much more snappier and seems to work quite well. The battery life has improved. I absolutely love it. Now the true test is when I go to work today. I use my phone quite a bit so we'll see how it handles the day. But so far...so good.

Yeah for whatever reason even if you lock the desktop you can still swipe and close/open the launcher...

the doofus is a doofus LoL i still cant believe that i couldnt fuggur that one out.... just goes to show the level of noob-ness im still at :/

Same thing happened to me when I tried a new theme....the power widgets went away. A reboot fixed it for me as well.

How do I delete hosts in CM7? I read that CM7 will do adblocking on its own but I don't see where I can change what it will allow.

Does the kernel that comes with CM7 RC4 allow for HDMI mirroring using fullHDMI? I dont have an hdmi cord or i would try it out myself

Nightlies come out about every 2 or 3 days with minor changes and bug fixes or attempts at them. RC is considered a semi-stable release ultimately leading to a final, stable release.

So do you start over from scratch every time you flash a nightly? or is there an update process?

Dont mean to sound all noobish, but when it comes to CM I kinda am. :D

I am currently running Kings GB, but was running CM7 nighties before that. I just nandroid, wipe dalvik-cache,flash the nightly, reboot, recovery, wipe dalvik-cache and reflash my kernel. Not had any issues doing it that way.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate the clarification.

Noticed an oddity today with the stock messaging app. After I delete a thread instead of deleting the recipient it moves the empty thread to the bottom of the list puts (no subject) in the text field. I tried deleting that and it doesn't do anything, I have started accumulating text message recipients with no subjects...

Just noticed that it changes the date on the deleted threads to DEC 31, 1969

Might be a bug in the messaging app they are using. I started using handcent and don't have any issues with that. I like it alot better than the stock app.

I had used Handcent for a long time, I started when I was running one of the Z ports. The stock one didn't split messages over 160 characters. I stopped using it when I went back to sense, then to GB.

Cool story I know.

Maybe it's time to load it back up.

I like the quick reply popup option. You don't have to unlock your phone to answer an sms.

Well it was a good thought anyway...

Handcent is showing the same thing. Trying to delete, and force delete makes no difference. I'm going to try and delete all of the threads, clear data and see what happens.

**UPDATE***
I deleted all of the threads, then cleared Data, seems to have worked, All of the threads are gone, even the ones from December 1969, I sent a text, then erased the thread individually and it is gone.

Weird bug though, especially the date part...
