Root CM7 RC4 Is Out

I like the quick reply popup option. You don't have to unlock your phone to answer an sms.
I have basically used Handcent since getting my Evo, but I download Go SMS Pro yesterday just to check it out, and I think I like it a little better. But you can't really go wrong either way. I don't have any real reason for liking it better other than the fact that it's new to me. They're both very good apps.

Oh, and according to Shinzul's twitter, the Wimax connect bug has been fixed, so it should be reflected in nightly 35 from what I gather. Maybe nightly 36 at the latest. I guess some are having issues with the phone not re-connecting to Wimax and having to reboot to get it to reconnect. I don't think I've had that happen to me recently, but I haven't been using 4G much lately either.

I got to keep my dads Evo cuz he didnt know how to use it and I have read all this stuff about the RC4 i was wondering what that does and how can I get it pls help

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are you rooted?

the rc4 was a nightlie rom. cm puts out nightlies of the rom. it is sort of a beta with tweaks and such that the cm team puts out before they release a stable version. you can get the nightlies here:
CyanogenMod Mirror Network - Powered by TDRevolution you can also get the stable version which is cm7.1 on the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html sticky as well.

technically, a release candidate (RC) is of much higher quality than a nightly build. It's been QA'd and is good enough to be released. Barring the finding of major defects, a release candidate often becomes the "Stable" release. So I wouldn't consider RC4 to be the run-of-the-mill nightly builds.

Anyhow, this is an old thread, and RC4 is quite old now for version 7.0. For those looking for something solid, just look for the stable releases.
