Root CM9 / MIUI Alphas (updated 03/20)

What if I remove one from the home page, how do I recover it? Sorry I didn't see it in the wiki

you can move your shit around, add screens or folders to put stuff on but you can't remove anything from the screen

dragging a app to the trash brings a pop up to uninstall it unless its a system app

n also we need to make cm9 more official like make it less buggy n fix some of the problems like the camera n gps

I think your missing the whole point of this thread. I suggest you read from the beginning again. Hoark put these out as alphas. Things can be fixed but it will take time. Don't expect constant updates. These alpha's won't be 'official' anytime soon.

My 3G on MIUI and CM9 beta 2 seems to go out completly when I loose signal or have low signal and won't come back when I get good signal unless I toggle it off and restart
Edit: I'm using bloods alpha 2b but the same happens in cm9 alpha 2

same happens to me.. I have tried installing cm9 twice and run into this strange issue. it doesn't happen on CM7 or CTmod. if anyone has time to test it, I was wondering if it could be attributed to the FA19 update.. I won't be able to test for a few hours

Question hroark. when was the last time you got a updated source for CM9. I ask because MIUI (which is based on CM9) has some of the newer CM9 features.... Like the toggles tab in the notification shade...

EDIT: when you receive a call on MIUI you have to toggle mute so that the other side can hear you....

There are certain Google Apps that you wont be able to download from the Google Play Market when your using CM9.

So i put together a Gapps Package of a few apps that are NOT available on the market and a few that are available on the market

In this Gapps Package i have installed..

1-Gmail (not available on the market)

2-Gtalk (not available on the market)

3-Google Chrome (not available on the market)

4-Google Music (is available on the market):D

5-You Tube (I think its available on the market)

If you do not want the few apps that are available on the market and included in this zip, use your respected app remover to ditch it (Titanium Backup);) or System>Settings>select app>uninstall

If anyone has any suggestions for any Google Apps that arent included but you would like me to i will update the zip:)

The Google Chrome version in the zip is a modded version i found on XDA untill i can figure out why Offical Chrome Beta will not install, I tried sevral different Beta versions with no success, i also tried Monsters modded version with no luck, so after searching all night for a working version i came across one on XDA, Link at the Bottom, THIS IS MODDED NOT OFFICAL..But still really nice

In order to have Google Chrome work on some CM9 ROMS there is a Build.prop edit you have to make. The third line down from the top of your build.prop has to be changed

Change the third line down to "ro.build.id=IML74K from whatever it currently is..Offical google chrome needs this build.prop edit done inorder to work..The modded version i have provided may not,So you shouldnt have to.. but i am going to keep trying to get offical Chrome working..

If some people find this helpful, cool..Maybe Hroark can add it to the OP?:D

Download Gapps from here

Don't use an alpha ROM?
This IS NOT for daily use... If you want your phone functional, you know your options... ;)

also if your trying to use this as your daily driver..i can confirm that link2sd works..so use that to free up some space from internal..but IMO its not ready yet..it will be eventully with so many people testing and helping..

sorry vince meant to quote tommy not you bro

No, your right. my post was less than helpful... My apologies. I just had not even thought to try links2sd, loading this up with apps wasn't on my to do list...:o
