Root CM9?

That looks somewhat incomplete (no mms), a lot of people in the thread report a lot of rebooting, and I don't like working with jmz's ROM's, his poorly written instructions and documentation make it too risky for something to go wrong or a step to be missed and cause problems with your phone.

Are there any more stable CM9 ROMs for this phone? How about ones for the Sprint version (flashing after you follow Leslie Ann's steps to make you phone a Sprint phone)

The problem is that Virgin Mobile and Sprint handle MMS differently. Just because a Sprint ROM lists MMS as working for Sprint doesn't mean MMS will function if you flash it on a Virgin Mobile phone.

Lol, I like how the people trying to say that it won't work are getting ignored. They're correct, it won't work. You can try all you want but trust us, it won't.

You can flash Sprint ROMs but Sprint and Virgin Mobile handles MMS differently, so MMS won't work on Sprint ROMs.

Ah well I didn't realize that. On the bright side I'm glad it's still being developed since you've moved on to CM10, minus the fact he didn't ask you.

I don't see why he'd need permission. I mean it's not like we ask permission from HTC to use their stock ROM. If everyone refuses to share their work, we won't make any progress.

Plus jmz abandoned CM9 to work on CM10, so nobody is really getting hurt in this situation.

Because its my work. Not even credit in the thread. I would never refuse anyone to use nearly any of my stuff. That's the point.

Because giving due credit is required under most, if not all, open source licensing schema such as GPL.

True, and strictly speaking that's breach of copyright. However HTC have kindly made it known that they're happy to turn a blind eye so long as developers don't abuse their generosity. :)

Immaterial. Any license still applies.
