Compatible cases for the AT&T version.

What's up guys? This is my first post here, hope you guys can help! By the way, this is my my first droid, and I'm loving it. I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T version. I need a case bad, but damn near every case seems to cover up the noise-canceling mic. Are there any cases at all out there that fit this phone? I really don't want to have to mod a case. As of now, I have one of those shitty silicone cases on it, but it barely stays on the phone as it is.

Seido just released their Surface case / holster combo: seidioonline.com . I was hoping Best Buy would have it available under their Plantinum brand, but that hasn't happened. I am just going to order it online and hope for the best. It does not show if it covers the second mic, but I am going to risk it. I have had very good luck with their cases and I am hoping this case will be as satisfactory as the others I have used.

11/14
Best Buy is now selling the Seido case under its Platinum Series. This case is an extremely tight fit and has all the necessary opening for mics and such.

The AT&T Store has a leather insert/ rubber case that is great. It is made by AGF, fits perfectly and is snug.

^ is bulky, and the one I "tried on" (brand new in packaging) had a flimsy kickstand. It wouldn't go back into its place..just flapped around loosely.

Another vote for the Surface from Seidio. Two piece design, snaps together and a great feel.

Another favorite of mine is the Ringke from Rearth. Thinner than TPU (what I've seen, anyway), and slip resistant.

I've got both of these, along with the POP, which I also think is too much case for such a slim phone...for mountain biking...maybe.

Do they have the Ringke case SPECIFICALLY for i-777? I only see the one on Amazon that is listed as being for both, and it says it does not cover the noice cancelling mic, but all the reviews say that it does indeed cover it.

Ya that version is fine now. Originally hit the market without the mic cut out, but they've updated all their stock and any new orders should be fine. If you're worried I would maybe purchase straight from their site though.

I love my Case Mate "Barely There" case as it adds little to the size of the device. I have not dropped a phone in years so all I need is something to deflect scratches from laying it down, etc.

Another vote for this. Cheapest high quality case. All holes cut and TPU material does not interfere with reception like metal cases.

Also, there is gap between screen and case <1mm which is good as the surface of my screen does not come in contact with other surfaces. Same with the camera cut out on the back side.

Okay, another update to the Ebay case I posted above. I just dropped it from my hand to hardwood floor. I'm only 5'1" so that's not very high and my arm was down at my side as I was walking.

No damage to the phone, per se, but it unmounted the sd card. My phone gave me a warning not to do that again, and none of my files were showing up in Gallery. So I had to remove case, pull battery covery, pull battery (which is serious design flaw, Samsung!). Card was still in its place. Removed and reinserted, and it seems to be fine now.

But this case obviously does not fully protect your phone! I've dropped my phone a few times with no case and never had this happen.

I just ordered the TPU-Cases case on amazon.

Otterbox Commuter case...I've dropped it rock climbing from 15 feet and it didnt skip a beat. Did the same thing to my iphone and the case worked like it should have.

The TPU case from amazon is about the same as this

$2.95 *bay case, minus the cutouts for volume and power.

I've dropped mine with the *bay case above and have had no problems as you listed. Certainly each drop will have different outcomes.

$2.95=winner.

I finally received my TPU case, and love it!! If you're thinking about it, definitely go for it. Mine got stuck in Jacksonville for 4 days. grr

Couldn't find much initially. Stumbled across a belkin soft gel case at target for $20. Fits like a glove. My only complaint is that the power and volume buttons are a little tough to make decent contact through the case. Other than that, all other holes line up. For $20 I'm satisfied until something better comes along.

On the TPU case, everything is cut out EXCEPT the volume buttons. I wish they were cut out. That would be my only complaint.

Why? I see this as a benefit (no dust/dirt/liquid, etc.) and there really is no need for them to be cut out, they are push buttons...thus.. the $2.95 *bay version which has both the power and volume NOT cut out.

This is the one I have now, it's pretty damn perfect.

And I actually hate cutouts for buttons I think cases look much better with all buttons covered and obviously more protection, but the TPU case that I tried that covered the power button made the power button hard to push, so I like that there is a cutout on this case.

Case-Mate has a couple nice ones. I have used there tough case on an Inspire and is build just like the OtterBox commuter case.
Samsung Galaxy S II AT&T Cases, Covers, Accessories for Samsung Galaxy S II by Case-Mate

I tried the Barely There and it drastically decreased my reception, just looks great but not worth loosing two bars and GPS.

The plain black Barely There for my iPhone 4S and SG2 International are the best ever. Case Mate needs to get rid of the aluminum.

TPU-Cases Smoke GeoTPU Flexible TPU Case & Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S II (Model SGH-i777) **ONLY FOR AT&T VERSION** (TPU-Cases Retail Packaging):Amazon:Cell Phones & Accessories

I exchanged for this case because the matte was kind of annoying me it is too dry feeling. My impression of this all TPU glossy finish is much better. It feels lighter in my hand, it looks better, it's understated and you can see the galaxy s2 emblem which is a plus. Definitelu my favorite of the two cases.
