Complete phone idiot. Questions about Gingerbread / ICS?

so when u plug ur phone in ur computer doesnt recogize it at all? it should download and install drivers by default at the very least. r u using the original cord that came with phone? other than that im not sure dude. if u give me lil bit ill look into it.
 
that makes no sense. u should be able to plug ur phone into comp and transfer files. ANY phone can do that. right out of the box. i have no idea what u r doing wrong.
 
Ive tried my og cord, three other cords, and other options. Im gonna take my phone in tomorrow and complain and either get it fixed or replaced
 
I switched to an older computer and it worked perfectly. I read quite a bit that a lot of people are having problems with their phones connecting right on windows 7 64bit
 
BTW B-Boy put out hi Devious Rom off the Milestone 5 build. Milestone builds r the most stable and best preforming. they r only released every couple of months. not every other day like the other builds. :rock:
 
Was having issues with camera force closing a lot. Couldn't get torch to work and the LED would not stay on for video recording. Also had no option to go lower than 720p recording on camcorder =/

I flashed it back to stock *again* and just rooted it. Going to try again I guess. I like the ICS layout but if I can't get the camera to work at least as well as it did on 2.2.2 there is no point in my messing with it >.>

I can tell I will also need to overclock the phone or something, it is much slower "stock" on ICS than it is on GB.
 
yrah like i said i got this phone just to run and test ICS. I personally had any issues w camera then again i dont use it much either. As far as speed: im running milestone 5 w V6 supercharger and kernel clocked to 1.4. My phone flies. cant imagine it any faster but i suppose anything is possible. lol
Its all a personal preference i suppose. if ya lie GB and it works better for ya ..use it. There are tons of GB roms for this phone

i can teach. its not that hard. U want be able to get some things to look exactly as i have them. i did some of this work myself and u need a working knowledge of android SDK development tool to do it.
 
i dont believe i can teach u how to use SDK/ADB over here. Just search you tube for videos on setting up android SDK and get it all installed. Once u do repost and i will walk u through the code u need to right. its not that much. As im sitting here i just threw this together real quick. i know its hard to see im just proving how fast u can MOD up once u know how to use it, SDK is a very useful tool for developing.

u would have to give me a lil while but i can probably make u some zip files if u want. u will just flash them like u would a rom. will take a lil time though. couple hrs. (have couple other projects to do first)
However, if u have the time and the desire i would implore u to learn SDK it is a very useful tool. U can create ur own roms, themes, apps all sorts of stuff.
 
2 q's:

1. Is ICS on the fasincate still missing camera/video?

2. I'm on a rooted 2.3 build. How would I go about overclocking this a tad bit to make performance a bit better?
