Maps was updated after we were told not to update it. Does the new version work with this ROM?
That's strange. Maps has been updated and is working fine on mine.
I don't know what the deal is but this forum takes forever to load on my phone! Is it just me or does everyone else have the same problem?
I'm having the same problem in my inc too. Thought it was just me lol
It's working fine for some and not for others. It's the same thing on unrooted phones too.
So I upgraded to GSB 3.7 ODEX which combined with Maps 5.7 turned out to be a nightmare due to constant rebooting during navigation. I would have switched to a different ROM but read that these problems were common. (Downloading maps works great, though)
A few days ago i installed Maps 5.9 and have been running much more stably since then.
It's been quiet... a little too quiet. Any word on an update, CS? I need my flashing fix. Also, is cm7 still in a feature freeze?

I've been trying to sync for an update now for a few days but it seems the aosp servers have been having issues. There is an update for this in the works just can't make any promises on a timeframe. Currently I'm trying to do a manual merge of things since i can't sync. I do hope to have it up by the weekend though especially with the bad hurricane we ate supposed to be getting. Could have the potential to really put a damper on me being able to do much for a little bit. Stay tuned though![]()
Good luck with Irene CS. I'm in Massachusetts, so she's heading this way too. Biggest danger here is the storm surge and I'm far enough inland that I shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm ready with the candles and flashlights. I lose power for every little thing that happens.
Where I live is almost in the middle of SC and we thought Hugo would never reach us. Well Hugo wiped my town completely out although it was never mentioned on the national news. I personally went without electricity for two weeks and our water was from a well. It took trailers and wiped them down to the frames and thru them across fields. There were thousands of people without homes. Churches gave away food and ice and water was shipped in on tractor trailers.

Hugo was a Category 4 hurricane if I recall correctly. Nothing is that strong by the time it gets this far north. The cold water off the coast here weakens the storm.
The storm surge is always the biggest danger up here, but I'm too far from the coast to worry about it. I'm not in an area that is prone to flooding. Tree branches could cause some problems. I do expect to lose power for a period of time. We're on town water, so I don't have to worry about the pump for a well being out. My stove is gas. I have plenty of candles and a flashlight that can be cranked to charge up. For the most part, my storm "preparations" included going to the liquor store to stock up on wine and vodka.
lol. Oh... Candles and flashlights and batteries for the toys too
Lmao
What kinds of tweaks? I'm trying to determine whether it makes sense for me to upgrade, if it requires a full wipe. Is it worth it?
I can't link right now because I'm on my phone but there's a thread on xda for dialer lag fix. I've used a portion of that and merged a few other things for better memory management as well as speed and changed WiFi scan intervals.....alot. I think its about as fast now as running the supercharger scripts that some people use without the need for the script. If you want to hold off and wait for feedback that's understandable if you're happy with v17. Otherwise you could do a nand and try it out. Entirely up to you.

I would be grateful to hear about which version(s) of Google Maps/Navigation operate stably with Condemned CM7 V18. And if it's an older version of Maps, any info on how to load this file (e.g., a link to an APK file) would be much appreciated.
