Root condemned cm7

:( It went fine on mine... I don't get it.. this maps/nav thing is really getting to me now. I'll check some things over again and look through the script soon as I can. Until then try either fix permissions in ROM manager or fix uid mismatches in recovery. It's probably something stupid that I did.

Deleting the data for the app fixed the problem in my case. It must have had some incompatible data left over from the other version that didn't play nicely with it.

Question about S2H. I have noticed that when I try dialing Verizon's *228 the phone goes to some other setup screen and I lose the dialer number pad. Is there a way around this?

This goes for any Cyanogen-based ROM, including Froyo and GB: long-press the menu key to bring up the keyboard, switch to numeric input, and type a number from there. This will work.

They also say that you can automate the activation and PRL update by dialing *22899, but I just do it the way I listed above.

Well when I long press the menu key in the call it pulls up the keyboard and still not able to enter any numbers.

What does it update and how often should we do it?

Once the keyboard comes up you need to hit the number key on the lower left to change the keyboard to numbers and symbols and then you can hit the number 2 and it will go through the PRL update process.

This will update your roaming capabilities. Some people do it every time they flash a rom. I do it once every couple of months. I'm honestly not sure if there is a suggested/recommended frequency for this.

My dad does this every month or two on his droid 2. I've only done it once in the almost two years I've had my Eris. It probably depends on the area where you live, the location of towers, and the peculiarities of your phone.

PRL. by the way, = preferred roaming list. I believe it's a list of the non-Verizon Wireless CDMA rowers that have roaming agreements with VZW. I usually update the list when I am about to travel somewhere, actually, but no more than once every month or two.

Okay got it to work. I guess it just uses the keyboard numbers. At least the Verizon voice said it updated successfully.

Like I said, long-press menu to bring up the keyboard, and then switch to numeric input. On some keyboards you can long-press a letter key (on the top row, typically) also to get numeric input, but it depends on the keyboard that you use.

In Cyanogenmod settings under the CPU settings there are a list of the governors for the CPU. I have seen these in SetCPU and other placed but can someone finally explain to me what they each do?

Smartass
ondemand
userspace
interactive
performance

Thank you.

Some old posts, but: http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/279220-gingershedbread-gsb-4.html#post2330522

(Performance I believe means that the CPU runs at the max setting always. I'm not sure if it steps down at a screen down, but you'd run performance perhaps if you were running a game that just needed as much CPU as you could push.)

I'm not 100% sure what userspace is on Android. There is also some info at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoc...=/liaai/cpufreq/TunableGovernorParameters.htm

Very cool thanks.

One more thing. I have noticed that when I reboot I lose any shortcut pics like for calls or messages on the home screen and they revert to default icons.

I decided to mix things up and flash Tazz's Ginger Sense ROM. While I have much love for Tazz and his abilities, it was SO SLOW. I'm am re-flashing Condemned!

Any idea why I have such a problem with the Facebook for Android app? I can't use it more than once or twice without getting an error message asking to force close. Then I reboot and it works for one or two more times. And uploading pics to FB is near impossible - just freezes.

Didn't you have that problem not too long ago? I forget what happened though. I'll look back through the thread and see. I know that my wife hasn't been having any fb issues. Did you flash over a nand or a clean install?

I'm curious about which uses more battery, wifi or 3G. Anyone know?

As neera said. using wifi when possible should use less battery than using 3g.

FB is working fine for me. But I have had two or three times a pic upload freeze like at 40% or so.
