damn....hate to hear that about the dysons....guess we got lucky....

I bought a Dyson about 5 years ago. Very good vacuum, and simple design. However I have never understood their marketing campaign of 'never loses suction... ever'!

Uuuummmm.... hu? Is this a big problem with other machines? People standing around waiting for suction to kick back in? Never was an issue with any of my previous vacuums, unless of course they were full. At which time it's sorta nice knowing that 'hey, it's time to empty the thing out now'... if it never loses suction, then that tell tale sign is gone I suppose. But besides that, nothing in that slogan hints towards the quality of cleaning... why don't they mention that?

It's like if Chrysler made their marketing campaign, "Town & Country - the van with wheels that never stop rolling.... ever"! And I say this not to ridicule their product. It did indeed work very well for me. And since I let my ex-fiancee keep it when we split up, I'm looking to get the one with the ball next time. I used a buddy of mines and I really liked the way it maneuvered.... I just don't understand that silly slogan?

Dyson are great vacuums! You could also try miele there a high end vacuum but they actually use bags...I don't know If anyvacuum is gonna make it through that abuse without atear down once in a while

They claim that as a vacuum bag fills up, the vacuum is able to generate less suction. Which, isn't the case with a dyson. I've never used one, but that's what they claim.

Forget upright vacuums, their inefficient clog easily and brush rollers are only good for collecting debris and throwing dust.

Proteam Backpack vacuums are one of the best on the market, bags/filters and brush heads are relatively inexpensive and in a household environment you'll never replace the motor. We've got a couple used daily in classrooms and child care facilities that are 10 years old without failure.

Let's get this back OT? Or if you want, I can move it to the lounge and you can talk about just about anything you want. Lemme know. Carry on. :)
