CONTEST: Kindle Fire Forum Contest!

I'll play, no sweat even if I am ineligible :)

Am wanting to see how nice the screen is and what, if any, UI problems there might be. Will this be a stock android UI or some half baked amazon launcher?

I am most looking forward to the 'Amazon experience', the amazon appstore is really coming along nicely. As long as the apps there will work then the Fire has a very bright future.

Thank you for hosting this contest!

1. What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire? I would love to play Angry Birds in HD. Otherwise, I would probably use the Kindle Fire for finally reading the bunch of ebooks I have.

2. What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most? Video-streaming for Amazon Prime members, which makes me want to get Amazon Prime.

1. Well, I already have Prime, so the fact that I'll have those videos available on a tablet would rock!!
2. Silk Browser. Awesome concept. Can't wait to try it.

(1) I'm hard pressed to pick a single app, as really the multitude of media options is the primary thing I like about the Kindle Fire. Reading books, magazines, newspapers, watching movies/TV, and sharing on social sites is what makes this a nice device. But having Netflix and a 7" screen are probably one of the apps I'd put up there as a big one (although Prime could be there too depending on how good the library is). I have a busy job and 3 kids so most of my "personal" time is the 2 hours of train riding a day, so access to media (granted, Netflix would require me to use my hotspot, but so be it) is a big thing.

(2) Honestly, the feature I like the most is the color. Most of the books on my current Kindle are technical books and color for the graphs and illustrations would be a nice improvement over the grayscale I currently have. I'll give up the readability of e-ink for that (and let my daughter have the e-ink Kindle as she just reads fiction).

1. Being able to read books using the Amazon App that aren't as small as they are on a phone.

2. Definitely the size. Bigger screen than a phone but not as bulky as a laptop

1) I'm looking forward to Netflix on the larger screen. Movies should look quite nice.

2) I'm excited for the light weight of the tablet. Many other larger tablets seem too heavy.

(1) What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?

Streaming movies from Prime.

(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

Android goodness on the big screen.

1. I would use this piece of technology as a resource in my classroom for my third graders. I think this may help spark an interest in reading for some of my students who are struggling to learn to read or have limited interest in the subject.

2. A feature that I am looking forward with this device is the ability to access millions of books. The color illustrations are going to enhance the students enjoyment of the story and enrich their learning experience.

1. As I have never partaken of all the goodness of Amazon Prime, I'm looking forward to the free trial and througly testing out the video streaming for movies whether it be the free stuff or rented movies. I'm just as curious to see how amazon will integrate their ecosystem on top of android (particularly movies and music purchases/rentals) as I am to see the quality and performance of the hardware for viewing/listening.

2. It seems the consensus here is that the most anticipated feature on the Fire is the Silk browser. Amazon has obviously put a lot of effort into this and for good reason. The multitude of android browsers, whether it be on phone or tablet, all seem to be lacking in some way. Obviously the most important thing to improve is speed but there is also ample room for improving UI, integrated cloud storage, security and on and on. With HTML 5 maturing, Amazon is super-smart to get into the browser business. The potential speed-up that Silk could bring might be a killer feature that would actually make it pleasant to use. Talk is cheap though, I want to test out Silk on some of my most frequent haunts for myself.

(1) What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?

I really hope that "Plex" gets approved for Kindle (it's already in the Amazon App store). This, along with Netflix, would let me play any of my movies for myself or to one of my kids. No more competition over our single TV.

(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

Mainly the price vs performance 7-inch tablet. 7-inches is perfect for movies and eBooks without being too unwieldy, but the budget-7-inchers so far have been nearly painful to use due to the sluggish processor and nearly non-existent RAM (yah...I'm talking about YOU, Archos).

I am really hoping that Amazon's video on demand content will be aval on the KindleFire. I would really like to be to start utilizing my free video on demand content via my Prime Membership.

The feature I am most interested in is the silk browser. I am really curious to see it's performance compared to other browsers especially opera mini.

1. It will be convenient to take advantage of my prime membership on the tablet and being able to stream video content.

2. I am anxious to see the integration of the Amazon Cloud for ease of accessibility with my phone.

So does anyone know how apps are going to work on this device. Lately there has been a stream of announced supported apps, does that mean there is not going to be a google or an amazon marketplace?

has anyone come across any more information about Amazon's silk browser? There was that one tweet on the day of the announcement with a link to their blog site but there hasn't been any new tweets or blog entries since.

Looks like Streaming movies from your Prime account is a pretty popular response lol That is cool since that was one of my responses lol Has it been confirmed that this is actually possible?

Is anyone else annoyed that the e-book rental program is only going to be aval for kindle devices? I mean kindle books can be read from android phone and from the PC so limiting it to only the Kindle devices is really lame :-(
