CONTEST: Kindle Fire Forum Contest!

(1) What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?

Shopping, shopping, shopping, and more shopping via Amazon Prime access for all the various items listed. I just hope that the Amazon experience on the Kindle Fire is as good or even better than the Amazon iPad applications which are very good themselves.

(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

Color, color, color and the FAOTD (free app of the day). Of course the FAOTD is already available to any Android owner, but if you don't already have an Android, it's definitely a very exciting offer.

I really think that it would have been extremely cool if Amazon's current FAOTD 'QuickOffice Pro' was left available for the few days in support of the Kindle Fire launch.

Cancelled my pre-order. Really need to hold one (pardon the pun) before deciding about it. I like portability, but I also like readability. See my earlier 196 DPI post ...

used to be a big fan of FAOTD, but the free app quality has dropped. And read a really sad article about the dev side of this policy. Bascially, there is nothing in it for the devs.

1. Taptu and other reading apps

2. Amazon Instant Video app. Actually, can't wait till devs strip it out and we all have it running on our phones and other devices.

1. I am anxious to see the apps and being able to read and Play games from the same device!

2. The browser interests me! Would love to see how it all works!!

Really like the idea of a tablet WITHOUT a camera. I already have too many low grade lenses in my life.

Would anyone make a table with only a front facing camera? That could be kind-of useful.

1. I am really excited to use my prime membership on the tablet and being able to stream video content on it. Also the kindle lending feature looks pretty neat too.
2. I am looking forward to see how the silk fire and the Amazon cloud are integrated into the system.

Not sure about the apsect ratio yet. No, not the device, but my usability / preference.

Really think 4x3 for a 10" tablet. But for this, the 16x9 (or so) my be more pocketable.

  1. What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?
browsing web on my couch

  1. What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?
pricing is what excites me the most.

Wondering what my ultimate use case will be? I could see dragging this with me to the oh so many kids sports events.

But I don't see sitting on the couch and using this, except for browsing pr0n :D

1) Definitely the ability to consolidate all my periodicals into one single slate.

2) Silk--I think it'll be more than awesome.

I was concerned about this as well. I have a nook, and I like the e ink and being able to read in the sunlight, without the glare. I am wondering how this would work. I see they have anti-glare screen protectors for it, but I am wondering how effective that would be.

1. I'm really looking forward to having a mobile solution for my Amazon Prime Streaming. That app will make the Amazon Prime media options really worth it!

2. I think the Amazon Cloud is really great. Given the Kindle Fire has 8GB of space being able to store Amazon media on the Cloud will save lots of space for users with easy access to wifi like myself.

I like the point that you have brought up with the portable version of the amazon prime streaming feature. I like it, but having to always be by my computer is kind of a pain. It would be great to be able to watch the amazon content on the go.

1. Watching NFL games via the sunday ticket app and playing games on a bigger screen!
2. I love Amazon Cloud and can't wait to see what this Silk Browser is all about.

Do they have the sunday ticket app in the amazon app store??? If so, that would be another great reason for me to look forward to this device

What I'm most excited about is reading marvel comics and seeing how well this thing gets when it comes tor roms
What I like most about it is the price for what u get I mean a dual core ti omap processor for only 200 dollars I'm also looking forward to seeing how the silk browser performs

I am curious to see how developers get custom ROMS on this device. Will they completely abandon the customized amazon content, or work with it. I am concerned that with the integration of custom ROMS, they easy user interface might get lost.

(1) Wired Magazine, and other tech-related articles

(2) Long battery life, WiFi and portability.

I am a bit disappointed about the battery life. I saw on some specs that it will be about 7 hours, that is one downfall. I was hoping for a bit more.

used to be a big fan of FAOTD, but the free app quality has dropped. And read a really sad article about the dev side of this policy. Bascially, there is nothing in it for the devs.

I saw that article as well. Something about a lot of people just check-in to the amazon app store for the free app of the day, and not really shop the other apps. Then they might try the free app, and a lot of the times, delete it a while later. I also agree with you on how the quality of the free apps have been lacking for a while. Hopefully with the integration of the Fire and the app store, the devs will get some more love.

1. I'm most excited about using the Kindle app for books on the Fire.
2. Really looking forward to trying out the Amazon Plus features for Kindle users.

(1) What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?

I'm excited to read my recently acquired e-books on the Fire, as well as having a small and easily portable way to casually web browse.
(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

I'm a big fan of the 7-inch form factor, as I think it strikes the best balance between portability and size. Unfortunately there aren't many 7-inch Android tablets that are all that good.
