I don't remember I think I got it from sharing, I see the camera on my personal videos now that I've looked at them but I guess it's just for my own recordings.

Couldn't remember if it was you that had left Sprint or not. Seems like it may be for certain videos. It's definitely not just limited to ones that are taken with the phone.

Nope. My camera settings were already set to save on my microSD. The screenshots from videos go into SDCard (e.g. Interior storage)/Pictures/screenshots

Or just move it after you take it.

That's what I did, but it'd be way more convenient if the screenshots could be directed to the microSD.

The take-pics-during-video-playback thing was a feature of the EVO LTE that I missed when going to the Galaxy S III. Hmmm, maybe it had it all along and I didn't know it.... I shoot videos of my son and this feature comes in handy!

Just made one myself - an easy way to add a photo to a contact without having to take their real-time picture. However, you still need to have their previously taken picture stored somewhere.
1. Open the contact's picture in Gallery
2. Take out the S-pen.
3. Hold down the S-pen button and draw around the area of the picture that you want to use
Note: draw a bigger area than needed and beware of the yellow square around the face!
4. Dump the selected area in Scapbook
5. Go to contacts and select the needed one.
6. Tap on the place for photo, select "S-Note" from the pop-up menu
7. Select Scrapbook and you'll find the selection
8. Using S-Pen, refine your selection with the rectangle tool that appears (here you'll see why you had to select a bigger area)
9. Click "Done"

Sorry, it does not sound easy with so many steps, but once you try it, you'll find out it IS easy.

Why not just add a picture from directly from the gallery? Why go through all the trouble?

In S Note, to put in a subject in the subject box, click the pen(drawing mode) than press and hold on the subject box. the box will get highlighted(you can move it or make it bigger if needed) than click the box again and a cursor will appear in the box.

I tried this, but coudn't add a subject... Infact i tried it so many times i found 2 new features i didn't know of!
1. When you're in S-note, holding the button on the s-pen and long-pressing the screen, an "Idea Sketch"-window pops up with a pig white square in it. Here you can write for example "Tree", and a sketch of a tree is added to the note. (30 minutes ago when i was reading your post, and trying this out, the "Idea sketch" popped up every time, but now for some reason, it will only screenshot (because i am actually taking a screenshot) and its sorta random when the idea sketch pops up. Can someone confirm this?) Also, while trying to do this now, i found out how to add the subject. You dont have to press the button on the s-pen, just simply longpress the "subject"-field and it'll be editable! EDIT: Reading your post again i see that is exactly what you wrote, i mixed up "click the pen" with "click the s-pen button"

When drawing with the s pen in handwriting-text mode, draw a vertical line to insert a space between words.

I so wish the space was automatic.

There is some method for the space to be automatically added, I just have not figured out what I am doing yet. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. LOL.

They're only referring to when writing 1 word at a time. When you write 1 word at a time, it doesn't automatically add a space.

Furthur to this you can also add extra Pen styles and types to your favourites and when "hovering and clicking with the S pen button" it will cycle through them all and the eraser. To add a pen style as a favourite just click the little + when on the "Select the colour / pen type etc" box. It will be added to the list on the right and you can click the - to remove them from your favourites.

Another tip I have is for anyone with a Playstation 3. When connected to the same network as your PS3, You can stream content from your phone directly from your PS3 so is great for showing off photos and videos on your "Just slightly bigger than your note 2" HDTV. If you are connecting over a G Wireless network the connection can be a little slow but you have the option move the content to your PS3 and then play it.

To do this you need to turn on "File Sharing" under Settings > More Settings > Nearby Devices. And then you need to "Search for Media Devices" on the PS3. However should you have problems with getting it to work have a quick search for a Youtube Video or Guide to help. It is easy to do!

I have no doubt you can stream and share to other devices aswell.

Absolutely. Ive been able to stream on my Xbox and appleTV as well.

You can also stream straight to your TV of it has DNLA built in. Just wanted to add that this past saturday I used my ps3 to stream a 1080p video I took that day on my Note and video was unwatchable. It was like trying to stream a movie on Edge, while the 1080p quality is amazing, the video was laggy and would stop playing every couple seconds. Im still trying to find a solution to this. On the other hand, when I used my MHL cable all is great.

For anyone interested on streaming via DNLA just lookup vids for the S3 as its the same procedure

Only items that go into the microsd card when enabled under settings in the camera app are videos and pictures. Even if the microsd is the preferred storage method, all burst shots, screen captures, pictures captured during filming or from videos default to the internal phone storage. I believe I read this information in the PDF manual.

This. What's funny is, some of the gestures are extremely similar to how the OG i500, which was a palm based smartphone w/ stylus. I actually loved that phone, including the form factor. It was before Windows Mobile phones became popular, but it really served its purposes well. Having the Note 2 is making me reminisce about when I started to use smartphones and start figuring out customizations for smartphones. On top of that, the Spen reminds me of how awesome it was to have a stylus (even though the SPen is worlds better, since it uses WACOM digitizing capabilities).

Question though, do you not want to use multi-tasking? That's the purpose of that tab/toolbar.

Hahaha...I wanted to do this the other day also, but could not remember how they did it in the tutorial video. All of these things they make sound oh so simple...until you actually have the phone and realize there are millions of options for doing things. Bigger learning curve than expected, but definitely so much fun trying to figure all of them out.
