i think i have soft bricked my dx i was trying to flash kit a
kat and cm11 made a mistake now im stuck on the boot logo (motorola) can someone plz come to the rescue

Well, I don't own a Droid X and have no experience with this particular device.

Can you still access the bootloader/recovery?

Assuming you have a working Nandroid Backup, hopefully you can get into recovery, wipe /system, /data, /cache&dalvik and restore your backup.

That's pretty generic advice, I know, but I can't offer you anything device specific.

Does your device have a removable battery? Or can you power it off?

Usually, from a powered off state, you use a button combo to access the bootloader.

Once powered down, try holding volume down + power. If that fails, try volume up + power.

From the bootloader screen you should be able to select recovery, and from there, wipe and restore.

Edit:
Here's the button combo for your device -
Step 1. Make sure your device is completely powered off
Step 2. Press and Hold the Camera button as well as the Volume Down (-) button
Step 3. While holding in those 2 buttons press on the power button
Step 4. Once you see the screen flicker/flash you can release the buttons you should now see a black screen similar the screen shot below

Well by pressing the power and home button I got it to Andy with an orange exclamation mark in triangle can't seem to pass this screen though

I'm not 100% sure but that looks like a stock recovery... :/

Obviously you would have needed a custom recovery to flash a rom. Did you install a custom recovery or boot it through fastboot?

If you have used fastboot commands with your device there might be some options there as well.

adb reboot bootloader

I have not used bootstrap or framaroot or any other 1 click root method. I prefer to do things manually. This is probably getting a little above my head because I'm unfamiliar with all of these tools.

Let me ask around and see if I can find someone that's more familiar with the device/rooting methods.

It's been a couple of years since I messed up a Droid. Have you checked into RSD Lite from Motorolla & flashing an SBF? A long time ago that was the way to flash stock firmware to a device so long is it would power on. I recovered a Droid 2 with it once and that is of a similar generation as the X.

I wouldn't even know how to use it I'm a noob to droid software mods I'm pretty good at modding ios but this is worlds apart

That is powered on enough for RSD if it works at all like it used to. It is the Motorola utility for fixing their own devices. Brian asked some others to have a peak, so I'd like to hear from them first. Like I said, I haven't used the tool in over 2 years, there may be a better, faster, easier way now.

Can you post a new link to the XDA tutorial you found? The one above is broken.:(

XDA is an awesome resource, don't kick yourself for trying that.

That link works, thanks. I have to leave and run a bunch of errands, so you may not hear from me till much later tonight or possibly tomorrow. I need to read through that XDA thread to try and figure out where it may have gone wrong.

Ok like I said the rom failed to load and I hit the reboot button by mistake and that's what soft bricked me I'm sure of it
