Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

Just tap the install clockwork recovery at the top and it will download the most recent version. It will always ask for this after wiping/ setting up new ROMs
 
Is anyone else getting errors when trying to download certain apps they had previously? For example, I can't install a couple of the Audio Manager Pro skins, and Google Sky Map won't install either.

I tried loading them from Titanium Backup first, and they wouldn't install.
 
Installed last night and after about 5-10 minutes the phone had gotten quite HOT on the back. I switched back to stock, but find it odd that CM6 caused the temperature to spike. Anyway all is fine with stock,

Anyone else having this issue? Or notice an increase in temperature when running CM6?

Anyone? I'm trying to figure out if it's just me and I need to reflash.
 
I had a few apps that didn't load and several widgets that I had to remove and then reload and they were fine. I believe it to be more of an issue with Launcher Pro. I think if I load it again I'm only going to restore the apps WITHOUT data and just start from scratch. I had constant FC's with the messaging app so I was forced to restore back. I would have probably stuck with it otherwise. Loved the trackpad to turn on the phone, the customizable notification bar and all the various tweak capabilities. Can't wait for it to get a fuzz more stable and for GPS.

I didn't, but I just tried to install it from the Market and it failed. Maybe the app isn't compatible with Froyo or maybe it tries to load something on the internal storage which CM6 can't see yet. Ah, the joys of being on the bleeding edge.

LOL yes if you don't have the paid version it is a SUPER pain to use TB for the restore. You will have to answer Install, grant permission, etc etc for every app you have and that can be a lot of button pushing. You can use MyBackup for 30 days and it works just like the paid for those 30 days.
I didn't realize you could load the data from the recovery tool but it makes since just never put 2 and 2 together. Thanks for that tip!

On a side note I installed this CM ROM and it said 2.1 not 2.2 when I finished. I'm going to give the new update a try here in a minute though.

Only three more days to play with this stuff as I'm going DX on Thursday and no root or probably no ROM flashing for some time.
 
I finally took the plunge and downloaded cm6.

I don't understand why ADW launcher is used. Doesn't froyo with its always on top phone, internet and menu negate the need?


also the keyboard doesn't have the mic?
 
I thought the mic was added in a nightly update but not sure. I already restored back to stock 2.1 for now. Another question though, if we do get to the point of sticking with this, can the updates be applied without a wipe?
 
my install is running great. crazy fast. but my only issues are it wont load my sd card or show my internal storage. i dont care about the internal storage but i need it to recognize my sd card. i thought the latest build fixed that problem?

I have no problem recognizing my SD card, but not the internal storage. So I don't know what's wrong with yours.
 
How do you install latest superuser? Do we need it right now? I downloaded and it asked to wipe. Do I need to do that?
