Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

Yeah I have noticed a Decrease in Battery Life. Ill go form 100 to 50 in like 2 hours maybe 3...And thats of minimal Use.

If you're having an odd drain, it may be because you wiped data when flashing the rom when at a fairly low battery % to start with. Might try resetting the battery stats:

-Turn off phone
-Charge battery to 100%
-Boot into recovery > Advanced > Wipe battery stats
-Reboot & unplug

I suggest everyone to try the new CM6 Test8 by Koush. It's available in Rom Manager premium if you have it. It's been hella stable so far and I've had it for like 2 hours. I can report on the battery drain later after I get some more use in it. Good news is that the CAMERA WORKS! Unfortunately the camcorder doesn't but, but I can live with that. It's really good and I suggest everyone try it out!

I ran it for awhile also. It's smooth but a few people are having the random reboot problem again. I haven't had any problems at ALL with Test7 using the Hydra OCUV v.0.8 kernel so I'm watching closely. I'm guessing another update will be inbound soon to iron out a few more small things at which point I'm jumping onboard probably for good. I did love having the camera back for a short while tho. :D

I've been running it for the last few hours, and it seems to be very stable.

I have been running it for awhile as well. The only time I had an issue was when I tried to use the camcorder. It froze up then rebooted the phone. Everything else I have done has worked great with no issues.

just installed cm6 test8...but i can't get the sd card to mount. every time i try it says it's mounting, then goes to "safe to remove sd card." what gives?

nvm, got it working. apparently i didn't have enough free space on my card for it to mount properly...

Noob question....

Looking at flashing this rom on the Dinc. After I do that, to get updates, do I need to download cyanogens app in the market, and check for updates, or do I need to flash more up-to-date roms as they release, just to get the latest and greatest?

anyone have a problem with contacts loading from gmail account? i had to reload previous rom, and extract to sd card, then import to cm6. maybe im just missing a button somewhere.?

other than that.. vanilla froyo on incredible is freakin unbeliveable.

No I didn't have any issues getting my contacts to sync up from google.

I love CM-6 im just waiting patiently for hydra to release an under-volt kernel that works with CM-6 without breaking the camera.

Is there any way to get skype working with CM-6? I downloaded it from the market but when I run it I get a message that says it only works with verizon phones.

Sorry if this has been discussed at all, but is the LED notification light working for you guys with this ROM? Mine does not flash at all for anything.

Hey guys ive been running CM 6 test 8 for a couple days and it has been working pretty good as far as i know. (Im also using the latest Hydra Undervolt kernel. )

Just a few issues/questions I have with it:
-In landscape view while in the browser the keyboard will jump up and down making it very hard to type (Ive been trying different keyboards and all have the same problem)
-Should I use setcpu with the undervolt kernel? Are there any real benefits to it? I really don't like having to open the app every time I reboot.
-Is there any way to get the original HTC browser with it? And also the original HTC keyboard?

Thx guys!

You can use the HTC_IME Jonasl keyboard with this ROM (the one for 2.2)...browser, I don't believe so. :)

Here is the link: http://www.hallerud.se/htc_ime_jonasl_hires22_27.zip :)
(Download, unzip and install the apks)

Does the camera work with the Hydra undervolt kernel? I thought I read on the Hydra site that none of the kernels have working cameras for 2.2 ROMs.

Have any of you tried the app NinjaMorph with CM6 Test 8? I am trying to theme my battery meter using this app but the changes that I make to it don't stick after I reboot. I'm just wondering if this is an issue with the ROM or something that I am doing wrong.

Possibly a dumb question.

Has this been folded into the official build yet? I flashed to the nightly this morning and I can't get my GPS working.

I'm not sure if it's the roms fault or my fault (I didn't install the 2.0 OTA radio update, I just backed up, wiped my settings and installed from nandroid/sd)

Honestly, your best bet is to just use the one that was modified by BossMafia and ihtfp69.

It's here:
CyanogenMod 6 (Nightly Builds) KNOWN BUGS - Page 15 - xda-developers

Bluetooth, MMS, GPS all work. I'm going to use that one until we get an official release of CM6.

Try out Koush test 8. I've been running it for a few weeks now and everything except the camcorder is working great, way faster than stock too! On a similar note, how do you get everything except the homescreens to automatically rotate into landscape mode on test 8?

It depends which launcher you're using. I use Launcher Pro and there's an option in the preferences for which screen rotations to enable on the home screen.

The only issue I had is that while the camera works, it doesn't work anywhere near 8mp. I said 5 before but I think given how small and honestly grainy the pictures came out, we're talking closer to 3mp.

I had that issue with the keyboard too, it was the notification bar popping up and being kicked out over and over again. I think one of the options in the web browser allows the notification bar to be shown which I think might fix it. I'm actually running a different ROM right now so can't test it for ya.

Thanks for the suggestion! With the test 8 rom I (mostly) have my GPS back.It doesn't quite work using voice search but if I type in the location it's fine.

The camera is still not right in this release but it will take pictures. This is not a major issue for me, I just needed my GPS back and the full (not HTC/Sense crippled) Bluetooth stack.

The jumping keyboard on cm6 is sort of Annoying. You can get around it but I can't believe more people haven't complained about it.

would flashing a hydra .32 kernel onto cm6 test 8 make the camcorder work?
we are going to find out.

Edit: ok so dont do that. it completly borked my touch screen, couldnt even get anywhere in the system. well at least we know now. little android guy came up and said "touch to start" but i couldnt touch him or the emergency button or the unlock screen, nothing would work.
