Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

really wish i could use cm6, but i can't do without sling player. if anyone ever finds a way to get that working, please let me know...i'd give cm6 a daily shot at that point.

right now, i'll stick with skyraider since everything seems to work...

A later version of Cy will be good I am sure (always worked well with G1), but too many problems in current release:

1. Have to work around the emmc memory being missing and it still does not work 100%
2. Games not working: PSX4Droid and Skies of Glory are two big examples
3. Audio menu crashes
4. Reboots
5. Slow charging
6. Battery drains more

Some of the issues appear to be due to the OC to 1.13. Seems that due to the board design, 1ghz is about the max point for this 45nm chipset. Probably a lot less issues if the kernel played nice with SetCPU, so it could be reduced for those that have problems.

I look forward to a Cy rom that fixes the issues :)

Im having an issue with my phone booting up. Its getting stuck on the live load up screen. and it just keeps restarting over and over and wont go past that. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Oh and if i could just get it to mount with my comp i could just redo the base os, any ideas?

If you havent yet, pull the battery, then reinstall the battery and hold Volume down while powering back up. That will get you into Hboot and recovery from there...

I have noticed #6 (battery drain), and rarely some crashes but I've only had it reboot using a few applications (like turning the camera to video mode), so that's completely avoidable. I could care less about emmc, most software doesn't recognize it anyway, and sd cards just aren't that expensive. I think my 16gb card was $26 after rebates.

Likewise, battery drain can be minimized by turning off bluetooth/wifi. I'm not sure why, but it does help more than it did with the stock rom.

...but I still love it and to my knowledge this is the only Incredible rom with wiimote support. If you want to use emulators that is a serious deal-breaker. I have not noticed any reboots using emulators other than the psx, which was a bit buggy to begin with

The other downside is that the camera/video simply isn't usable. Technically the camera works but it's even worse than the 1.3mp in my old flip phone.

I can live without cam support, but my question to the group is whether the video out works with this rom? Now that I have a good control setup for emulators I'd love to pipe it out to a big screen.

The night builds have been slowly fixing the issues, so some of the points are old hat now.

How can you not care about the emmc? That is 6.6gb of space that can be used for videos, photos, data storage, etc and save space on the sd card for mp3's, app data and game roms (my PSX folder takes a lot of space and are eboot files to save space).

I only have 200mb free of the 6.6gb and only 700mb free on my 32gb sd.

Forgetting about the built-in 6.6gb seems a tad radical ;)

How well does the DSP audio hardware EQ work?

I haven't seen any audio problems. PSX support would be great but how can you stand it using touchscreen controls?

I also have loads of roms and apps on my phone, and I would LIKE the emmc working, but it's not a dealbreaker for me. I'd also like to see it support the release version of flash 10.1 and have a functional camera too but it's still a good system and if you need extended Bluetooth support it's the only game in town.

First two attempts to install failed. I got the white triangle/exclamation point thing on the first. Wiped again, and the second installation got me stuck in a loop at the splash screen.

There are still problems with this release. I let Koush know about it via twitter, I want to believe he is looking into it.

i'm still having trouble with emmc mounting properly and LEDS, other than that it seems to be running smooth.

Last time I tried Cm the auto brightness drove me nuts. How do you guys deal with it?

I just disable autobrightness and use the Power Control widget to toggle the brightness.

This release just isn't stable enough for me, though. Too many reboots and battery pulls. I'm back with the Virtuous 2.2 ROM, which seems fantastic and stable.

I downloaded the latest release from rom manager. I couldn't get past the initial setup. I had to load my backup of RC3. I hope the problems get ironed out. Until then RC3 is running great.

I hadn't tried RC3 for very long, but I just loaded it, and it seems much more stable than the "stable version". I'll stick with RC3 for a while and see how I get along.

I tried for 4 hours last night and couldn't get past the "Touch the Android to Begin" I touched the Android 5-6 times and nothing happens, then it reboots. Oh well.....

I also couldn't get past the "Touch the Android to Begin." Also tried a recent nightly as an alternative and couldn't get past the boot screen.

Just rooted and flashed SkyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla the other day. Love it so far. For me, plain vanilla 2.2 just seems cleaner and better organized than Sense. I see CM6 looks like it outperforms SkyRaider, but performance aside, any opinions on it versus SR 2.5.2?
