Should the phone be connected to the computer when i hold the camera button and power on?

Thats the thing there is no LG logo!!

I've never had a logo while the phone boots even before trying to upgrade anything from 1.6, 2.1, or now.
 
I hold the camera button and push power on... The phone vibrates a bit as it usually would and then nothing happens (you say its it fastboot mode) no screen light comes on, no logo, nothing. I plug the phone into the computer where the command prompt is waiting for the device, nothing happens. I unplug the phone and try to power up (or down) nothing happens so i have to take the battery off the phone to get it to start again as normal.

I seriously hope theres something i'm not doing right here.... How long would u say i have to hold each button for? Should it be plugged in before i do anything, or plugged in after i get the vibration?

theres a fix to get the logos back, i think it's on the CM7 thread
 
I connected to LG Suite IV and it offered an update and i took it! It put my phone back to its original state in 2.1. And now after reading about the differences between 2.2 and 2.3 i'm going to wait for 2.3 to get further finished and go for that instead.

Thanks Dudeman1996 for your help, but for some reason it hadnt worked that time. I think it may have just needed another chance to do it again :) 2.3 here i come...

dude, if u cant find the fastboot driver try to redownload the flashing cyanogenmod.zip.....

this was also my problem before...

Not sure if it will affect it, but I don't have the cable connected when putting the phone in fastboot mode. If you want to restore the logo's, there's a section in the first post on it! :D

So you're back on 2.1? As far as I know, there's a 2.3 update coming out in the next few days :D It's like 90% finished, just a few things missing and a few bugs :D Your welcome! :)
