Root CyanogenMod 6.1/Android 2.2 Is here for GT540!

Problem:

My phone is in fastboot mode(blank screen), but when I plug it in to the computer, the drivers won't install anymore. I am using Vista.

When I'm not in fastboot mode, the drivers do install fine. I flashed the Europe Open ROM because the Carphone one is corrupted.

Anyone else have this same exact problem? Help me out please!

if u put a temp email here i will email u the correct drivers i had same problem the drivers i found work on XP VISTA WIN7 :)

ClockworkMod Recovery will keep my 2.1 Safe, right? I download the flash recovery recovery_clockwork_2.5.1.8_swift.img and store it in C:\Android? Sorry if it's a silly question but I don't wan't to get frustrated over a simple mistake

Yeah it will, just keep the backup safe and you'll be fine! :D

Help me out please. I can't enter Clockworks Recovery. I installed it using the Europe opens fastboot. Weird thing is that LG logo didn't showed up when I was trying to run fastboot but it appears it took me there anyway.

I flashed the 3760 kb file using fastboot and when I try to run it while holding the Home button and power on, nothing happens except that the cell vibrates once.

Thanks in front for your help

You have to keep holding it while the LG logo shows..

My Phone is fine. Only problem is that it doesn't show and images on startup. I can hear the android Sound that goes with the picture but the screen is black until it gets to the point when I have to enter my pin.

Here's what I did;

1) Backed up my Data
2) Using KDZ flashed from Android 2.1 to Europe open 2.1+fastboot
3) Using Fastboot I installed the Clockword Recovery

and now i gues i'm stuck. I don't wan't to go any further without the 100% backup

Maybe try reflashing the 2.1+fastboot with the kdz updater, i don't think clockwork should be touched, once you done that, try to reboot into recovery and see what happens

But in the guide it says i should install "recovery_clockwork_2.5.1.8_swift" with Fastboot so that I can make a backup. I did all that and Can't run it. Do you have any solutions on how to fix the animation screen or any other way to ensure my phone wont break if I continue to Cyanogen update?

I know it says that in the guide, but that hadn't been tested to see if it would work.. It should in theory, nothing will happen if you continue to update to CyanogenMod, loads of people have done it with no problems
