Root CyanogenMod 6.1/Android 2.2 Is here for GT540!

That means I have to flash my gt540 with a not original-lg-android, before I can flash it with this 2.2?
And must i bring my android in fastbootmode before starting update?
 
I think better is stay on 2.2. SwiftDroid 1.8 sometimes freeze during the navigation. Or stop working always but sometimes faster, another time it take some time. 2.2 works fine battery too. It depends about what you need. Need for speed Shift doesnt works for me on 2.3.

Today was been relase of CyanogenMod 7.0.0 final/stable, and I will wait for Mu4riks rom based on this version of Cyanogenmod. (exist 7.0.0 RC1,2,3,4 but ist only experimental mods)

I hope thats will be much better.

If you want to flash 2.3 version SwiftDroid 1.8 its not very good I recomend 1.5FM.

Soft-MOD wipes the floor with any other ROM that ive tried (including Stock 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, SwiftDroid v1.8, and softmod 2.3.3) No bugs that ive discovered are un solvable. Most bugs are little things that can be solved via reboot or just repeating the installation (the files are sometimes damaged when i use them as i am too eager to proceed and do not wait for them to completely finish copying, It said 99% :D)

I use Endomondo pro and during the tracklog it freeze. Trekbuddy too. Totaly. Helps only remove the battery. Now use 2.2.1 and everything works fine. Today when run Sygic Aura mobile make a restart but then works good everything. The reason maybe Aura and Music 3.0 run in the same time :D On 2.2 I have 90 MB RAM after kill the aplications, and battery look like better.

Not so hard to try more ROMs and choose the one. We dont have CM7 official, MIUI ROM, and many others. Only OpenSwift, SwiftDroid and Clean android but clean almost not work.

Just saying, never kill apps. Linux (Android) isn't Windows , so you don't have to kill the apps, to make the phone faster.
 
Hello my problem is that i put the processing power to high so now my phone keeps on freezing and also the mobile network connection didn't work can you please help me?

The CPU speed?, never EVER set it over 845mhz, or else the phone locks up, just underclock it.
 
Hey Guys have had Cyanogen on my phone for a while now.. Just recently rang up 3(Australia) to get my unlocking code... but when i dial in 2945#*540# it dosnt prompt me to type in my unlock code... is there another methods i need to use with the mod??

As far as I know, you have to enter the unlock code while on your official 2.1 ROM.. But I'm not certain on this

dude, i highly recommend updating to 2.3 it has a lot of new great features plus there's quite a lot of updates so you can expect that there are only very few bugs left...try it man!:))

Haha, the reason i modded to cyanogen is cause my phone bricked on the update from 1.6.. any kindly point me in the direction of were i can get the original rom or any other rom i can use to put in my unlock code?

In the first post there's a set of instructions on how to get back to 2.1
 
i have a problem i can't get my pc to see my droid when its on fastboot i mean it does but doesn't install the driver and i tried to install the fastboot driver myself below the ADB tab but couldn't do something can someone help me with this?

Probably because you're using 64 bit .

It's not because he's running 64 bit, I'm running on Win7 64 bit, doesn't make a difference. When that message appears, does the window say not responding first? If so, when it says not responding, just leave it, it's still working even though it says not responding.

In first time, I just want to tell you that I'm french, and maybe my english won't be good. So, sorry for your eyes ^^.

I've just installed CyanogenMod 6.1/Android 2.2. For the moment everything works (Calls, texts messages, Wi-fi, Apps2SD and more...).

But ! I've meet one problem with my camera. It doesn't works at all.

I've cleared the cache, erased all datas.
The same message: com.android.camera appears on the screen. I've read all the thread here and all the replies, I've looked on many french forums... I haven't find something that can help me.

So, maybe one of you can find some help for me :p !

ok i managed to install Fastboot be using the Europe Open the carphonewarehouse wouldn't work.
now i got a new problem i lost my market app :mad: will that be a problem when i upgrade to CyanogenMod 6.1/Android 2.2 or CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3?

the only problem i can think of is when i backup my 2.1 so if i ever go back to 2.1 i wont have the market
.so is it possible to reinstal the market before i backup 2.1 rom

CyanogenMod 6 is outdated, it's Android 2.2 with lots of bugs.. You should upgrade to CyanogenMod 7, it's Android 2.3 with virtually no bugs. Try it! http://androidforums.com/optimus-gt...ogenmod-7-android-2-3-avaliable-gt540-28.html
