For the cam fix, you do the same thing as what you do for the gingerbread skin right? (recovery mode)? And whats the sensors.zip for?

no need to go to recovery mode, here's how Camera fix

the sensor.zip file are a fix for the accelerometer

when you move the apps you install to the sd card they get stored at /sdcard/Android/data <- that's the path, you can chek it with a file browser

What exactly does the Sensor.zip fix?

and I can't fix the camera because Root Explorer's in a different language and I don't understand it.

And my network says Disabled and the Wi-Fi status says Disconnected
+ Mass storage only works once in a while

the zip file contains files, that fix the acceloremeter orientation

Go to Settings, 12th option down is Language & Keyboard with an A in a square, then tap select language, and choose English. Restart the phone and it

that's because you have to put the WEP key in to connect, if you have acces to the modem look for the WEP key and try to connect to your network

PLEASE ANSWER THIS! : After I put in the Camera or Sensor.zip (not sure which one) and go on an app, my phone crashes.

+ Physical buttons aren't working! (The Menu and Back buttons light up but none of the physical buttons do anything.)

I was hoping someone could clarify a few things for me before I begin
updating to CM6 :D

1. So do I just need to root the phone, back up my goodies, get fastboot together and then use clockwork recovery to backup my current 2.1? Then will the automatic installer (EXE) install CM6 for me?

2. Do I need to clear any caches, remove apps/games/music etc that are on phone memory/SD card beforehand?

3. Will Wifi, 2g/3g and all that good stuff will remain fully functional in CM6?

4. I live in Australia using OPTUS so as long as I get the APN settings correct, will I be fine?

1. Yepp backup, and let the exe do it's thing

2. Nope, just follow the instructions

3. Yep, everything will be fully working

4. As long as you have the correct APN settings you'll be fine :)

Hmm, that's unusual, did you set the permissions right when you copied the files?
 
Is it only me or does anyone elses phone not perform as good as the one in the screenshots on benchmark? mine got only around 800 without being overclocked and only 1k while being overclocked to 800mhz
 
How do I put a contact icon for myself? I have contact icons for everyone else but myself, and it kinda bothers me to look at a blank icon for myself on messaging when everyone else appears with gorgeous little pictures... Just a minor problem here, haha.

In messaging, if you tap your blank icon, it should ask to add the number to your contacts, add it, name it and give it a picture :)

Yeah i'm on the same boat, but it does not bother me much because my phone's response time is fast enough for me.
 
why is it that when i charge my phone it never reaches 100%?? it always stops at 99%...is this a bug in cm6?? o_0
 
In System 4.4 it says "Key focus of the camera."
Does it mean that I can use the physical key to capture in the built in Camera app now?

If so, to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 all i have to do is reflash it with fastboot, right?

Yeah it does, just flash with fastboot as per usual yeah. Just make sure you do a backup in recovery before you backup just in case :)

Ahh finally I have the time to reply :)

I really appreciate the help champ, that exe worked like a charm and now I'm loving this mod! But one more question sorry, how did you pull off 1300+ in that benchmark...I could only pull off about 1050 or so with the same setting (mhz)?

No problem! I'm always here to help.. except when I'm sleeping or at school :p I'm not too sure really, I think maybe it was cause I did it when the software wasn't loaded with all my usual crap and services in the background.. Maybe with processes and services in the background, it reduces the rating..?

Well CyanogenMod 7 has less bugs than CyanogenMod 6, with the FM radio working, and it's more up to date: http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus...-android-2-3-avaliable-gt540.html#post2270185

dudeman if i have already followed your wise words to jump to 2.2, am i right in thinking that all i have to do to jump to 2.3 is follow the " install swiftdroid .exe " link??

Yepp, you're right there, that's all you need to do, run the .exe while your phone is in fastboot mode and connected to your computer and you're sorted :)
