Root CyanogenMod 6.1/Android 2.2 Is here for GT540!

Ah right, well I guess your gonna have to wait unless someone finds a solution... Anyways I'm off now, getting late and I got school tomorrow :p Speak tomorrow about this :)

He decided to let me use it for 15 mins or so, what do I need to install on the computer?

install the lg drivers for win 7, they should install once you plug the phone into the laptop but if they don't install the drivers manually

I found a solution to the KDZ Updater. Turns out, I missed a part in the instructions which told me to turn off Mass Storage mode. That's why I couldn't update. Now I'm trying to install the OpenSwift thing but I got stuck at the part where you install Cyanogenmod. I opened the bat. file but it says waiting for device.

I put it on fastboot mode but nothing happened.

you have to put the phone in fastboot mode, after you updated it with the kdz

that is, you turn the phone off, then press the power on+camera button, and then after it vibrates connect it to the computer, and execute again the exe file to install the rom

I already did all that, I'm re-installing it now to see if that will work.

Does it suppose to vibrate on Fastboot? Because it didn't vibrate on my phone. It just has a blank screen and it still says waiting for device on the cmd.

Now my F:/ drive is gone.

yeah it vibrates, and it just stays at a blank screen, unplug the phone put it into fastboot and then connect it to the pc, windows will recognize the device as LG android platform device, or something like that.

when you put it into fastboot make sure that mass storage is off

Mine didn't vibrate. Just stayed on a blank screen and when I plugged it in it nothing happened, just made the noise that it makes when you plug something in. And I had an F:\ drive but now it's gone.

i just did a factory reset because adwlauncher had an error message and i couldnt access my phone. will the affect fastboot?

never mind, it didn't. but my phone doesn't vibrate on fastboot and my computer won't read my phone. maybe there's something wrong with my drivers?

i think the problem is because my f drive is missing. how do i install it again?

if the bat file doesn't recognize the phone, it could be the drivers, also...if when connecting your phone to your computer it appears as a mass storage drive , in this case f:/ drive, it's in mass storage mode, which it shouldn't be, try to re flash the kdz file again

the fastboot one? i tried installing the thing that popped up after you plug in your phone but it said "hardware not installed because wizard cannot find necessary software" and then a bubble pops up saying problem occured. device not ready to use.

yep the fastboot one, you're using XP right?, when that pops out, you have to go trough the wizard and point to the folder that has the android inf file and it will install it

Never mind. Problem solved. I used my bro's laptop :p

Thanks for everything! @You & Dudeman1996

I really appreciate it.

I just found one problem so far: Haptic feedback not working. its not vibrating when i press something.

Another problem: How do you mount?

List of problems so far:

1. No Haptic feedback (No vibrate on press) Checked the settings too.
2. Cannot mount.

you checked that settings>CM settings>input>haptic feedback is on? and that the settings are correct?

have you partitioned your sd card? 'cause that cause not to be mounted, try unmount it and mount it again

settings>storage>sd card

I solved the mounting problem but I still don't have Haptic feedback. I checked the settings. There's a checkmark beside the Haptic feedback but it doesn't vibrate on press.

Another problem is: On landscape mode the volume rocker still works as portrait mode.

Another problem: Sometimes it shows a static pic (like on a T.V) and crashes. *When downloading a big app (20+ mb)*

Another small problem: LG Logo twitches/flashes

Is there a way to uninstall Cyangenmod and still keep Android 2.2?

Problems so far:

Crashes when downloading large apps (20+ MB)

Haptic Feedback (one of my fav features)

Volume rocker still on portrait mode when switching to landscape (on landscape, right
still = volume down, left still = volume up)

No autofocus for camera

Camera button not working

Can't take pics

Everything is working great! Thanks for the post and thanks for the help!

Please help me with the list of problems above.

in the haptic feedback settings all the way down there's options to set how much it should vibrate check those .

the volume buttons, in landscape, well actually in 1.6 they are the same, left it's still up and right is down, in 2.3.2 they were the same, actually that it's ok

the camera shutter needs a fix to properly work, on page 1 in the CM7 thread, under "All problems & fixes" you need to copy 2 files
