CyanogenMod-6 for Hero V6.0.0 - RC1

shoooot. i think i messed up real bad. i downloaded the rom manager but didn't realize i needed to make a new recovery. now im stuck with a bad rom. anything i can do?

I've always had trouble w the Gmail app. everything would just get stuck in the outbox. I went and cleared the data from app manager and everything is good... for a while.

Anyone still flashing nightlies, 828 is up! Just flashed 828 with the new Dec uncapped kernel, what can I say but awesome! Highly recommend the new kernel, getting 5.4 Linpack, 464 quadrant. No gps issues at all

No issues here, if you are having troubles maybe go into settings, applications, manage applications, then clear data and cache in gmail. Then reboot phone

thanks for the help, however i still get no option to forward a piece of mail where there used to be buttons at the bottom of the email to reply and forward.

to fix gmail issues you have to CLEAR DATA on BOTH GMAIL and GMAIL STORAGE. settings>applications>manage applications>press menu>select all>gmail>clear data. do the same for gmail storage. restart gmail app and let it sync and then you should be good to go.

I did that and I still have the same problem.

That fixed the logging into gmail.

I do have a question though. The second screen to the right has a large widget bar that has been saying "loading" for the last 45 minutes, what is that widget supposed to be?

Drag it to the trash, not important

Hopefully one final question, when I try to load the uncapped kernel it does not allow me to. I get can't open file with a (bad) and an "installation aborted". I am going to try to re-download the file, just wondering if anyone else got that?

Sorry Guys... missed this.. searched and still couldn't find it.

When doing the NIGHTLIES... do you have to still download the gapps and install or do the nightlies already have all included?

Thanks.

NO, you must wipe cache and davlik cache though

It's very interesting to have Froyo in my HTC Hero. I've had it for a day and love the speed. My battery is draining like crazy though. Any tips? Also, being a heavy Exchange user I have come to appreciate HTC Sense's Exchange service. So much better than Google's, unless I'm missing something. I specially liked that you could put a calendar widget that would display your whole month's calendar and also an agenda.

having trouble wiping my davlik cache..keep getting an error

If you are using recovery v. 1.5.2, the wipe actually does take place. The message is in error. This is a known issue. If you are using 1.6.2, then try clearing some space on your SD card.

Couple of things you can do to improve battery life

First, have you tried wiping your battery stats? Charge phone to 100%, boot into recovery and wipe battery stats. Then reboot, and let the phone completely die 0%. Then charge back to 100% (keep phone on charger the whole time). See if that improves battery life, if not

Try one of the uncapped kernels [Kernel] BrainFuct Kernel - UncappedKernel - xda-developers (try the stable kernels)

Do a nandroid first before you flash a kernel

Or you can try collin's battery tweak (I have not tried but some say they can get 48 hours) Collin_ph Battery Tweak RC1 for Cyanogen / Darch Froyo roms (possibly others) - xda-developers

Good luck and always do a nandroid first, let us know:)
