I have heard that if you set the MHz too high it will constantly reboot. If I were you, I would stick with the 710 MHz or less.
I think CyanogenMod 6 is set to 691 MHz by default. That seems snappy enough for me.![]()
It's only set at 691 for every phone to boot up. Stock kernel in the newest nightlies, you can overclock without flashing an uncapped kernel
