so how would i get clockworkmod recovery to work, if i have a nandroid w/ Amon RA.

IDK, i enter recovery by holding the power & home button.

So getting to 768, has nothing to do w/ which kernel, etc i have installed?

If you want ClockworkMod recovery to work you will have to flash that as the recovery image and then make a Nandroid backup with ClockworkMod recovery. You will not be able to use the Nandroid backup from ClockworkMod recovery with the Amon Ra recovery and vice versa.

To get 768 MHz you need the uncapped kernel I believe. However, even if you have that, you may experience stability issues. As I said before, some handsets just do not respond well to such a fast frequency. The fastest generally agreed upon frequency of stability is 710 MHz.

I am under the impression that you really only need to update your radio if you are experiencing lousy signal and slow data speeds. If the radio that you are using now with your current setup is working fine, then there is no need to update.

By the way, if you are using CyanogenMod 6 and it seems like the signal is lower than what you were used to, it really is not. The signal is just not being reported accurately by the ROM because it was originally based off of a GSM Nexus One Android 2.2 ROM. I am certain the final version of the CyanogenMod 6 ROM will contain a fix for this issue. I think there may be a signal tweak as well, but I do not know what it is called.

Getting to 768 depends which cm6 rom(or nightly) and kernel you are running

If you downloaded the RC1, you will not be able to oc that kernel to 768 only to 691. You would have download one of the uncapped kernels and then oc either with setcpu or oc widget.

Now, if you downloaded one of the more recent cm6 nightlies, you will be able to oc the stock kernel with setcpu or oc widget to 768 without having to download an uncapped kernel

I'm actually having fun flashing the nightlies, it's like flashing something new everyday. Having Dec making new kernels is even better. Curious to see when the final does come out though

i originally installed CM6 RC1, but have nightly build 9/13 installed ATM, but fixing to install nightly 9/15. I have OC widget, & uncapped #13 kernel, but still cant go past 710mhz, w/o phone locking up, or going into a boot loop

Lol, you found that happy place for your phone

I have no idea why some phones can go to 768 without bootloops and others can't go above 710

my camera quit working in CM6, anybody else have this issue.

i also installed launcher pro, ADW already installed, & it made my phone run really slow.

also, lastnight, i had a full battery, & woke up to a dead phone, & as far as i know most apps were killed, & my OVR'CKED is set at MIN: 245, MAX: 710 while screen on, & MIN: 192, MAX: 245 while screen is off

& i can usually get 1-3 days off a full battery

Have you tried one of the uncapped kernels? Should help with battery life
Camera issue was fixed around the 820, should not have have any problems with the most recent nightlies

why is it that every CM6 rom i use including the nightlies all start off great and snappy but after about half a day or overnight it seems like the rom bogs down my phone? i use launcher pro and i set my screen swiping on fastest but it still lags? damnnnnnnnnnnnn it

Which nightly are you running? Uncapped?

i've tried a few nightlies. don't remember which ones. i've tried to run uncapped on RC1 but i dont think i did on the nightlies. does uncapped help with the lag?

man how in the hell do you get 3 days??? i read posts like these and i just wonder..like you HAVE TO HAVE like just ONE or NO widgets with JUST ONE screen with ONE app in your app drawer and leave it in AIRPLANE mode..

LITERALLY NO WAY A DAMN SMARTPHONE CAN LAST 3 DAYS..LIKE WTF..

sorry for my ranting..i just think sometimes people go a bit too far with this battery lasting talk..it should only last a day and a half at the most

Edit: not even the iPhone 4 (they claim it's one of the best batteries right now) can last 3 days and i know our crappy batteries can't last that long UNLESS you have the ABOVE SETTINGS!! even then you probably wouldn't get 3 days!!

i'm on the 9/12. every time i go past that somthing goes wrong. the market won't download or i loose notification sound. do u really have to wipe before flashing each time, i don't want to redo my phone every day.

There was a bug in the 911 and 912 with notification sounds, so that might be the issue.

When flashing to nightly over a nightly, you do NOT need to wipe data only wipe cache and Davlik cache. All of your settings on your phone will be as you left it

when i got to rom manager it only give me an option to wipe or backup. should i just reboot and not use rom manager?

Don't use his application, use his recovery.

Nandroid first (or 'back up current rom')
Download the latest nightly
'Reboot into recovery'
Wipe cache, then go down to advanced and wipe Davlik cache, press back
Go to 'install zip from sd card', and find the file where your nightly is
Press yes and the nightly will install
After install press back and then reboot phone

I have actually gotten nearly three days out of the stock Android 2.1 with Sense a few times. I had Ev-Do on, Wi-Fi off, and I used it moderately with some text messaging, web browsing, a couple phone calls, and whatnot throughout those three days.

The average for me is usually around one and a half, and MAYBE two days though with heavier use than what I mentioned above. I have always been quite pleased with my handset's battery life and I imagine once it is rooted, it will be even better if I set it to underclock when it is asleep.
