I reflashed from RC1 to Nightly and back and back again. The video camera still sucks.
 
So I flashed the newest nightly, google apps, uncapped #14. I don't know why but it still is just laggy, scrolling screen to screen and in the app drawer is far from what I'd expect using both ADW and LP. I have removed ADW from the phone entirely and it's still laggy, I am really getting irritated over this...

I've noticed whenever I reboot my phone, I have to open the overclocking widget to bump up the speed to 710, otherwise it seems to reset to a VERY low setting for off screen. I'm on 9/15 nightly, uncapped (not sure of the version) using LP. The app drawer is always a little jittery, but opening and closing apps is fast.
 
went and got the 3 apk's needed for TV and NFL TV and for the TV, when looking for channels, it just sits their loading nothing and for the NFL it just sits at the load screen.

how do i get it to work?
 
Got my camera figured out. In short, it just sucks. When the bottom setting is set to custom then you can pick your own codec, frame rate, quality. Seems weird but who cares, it simply sucks.

Unfortunately, it may just suck. But fortunately, froyo is still in the testing phase for the hero and maybe a fix will come soon;)

go to your advanced settings and set your settings up to start on boot..click detect frequencies then click save
 
does anybody else have issue w/ apps just starting by themselves, ill force close all my apps, & 10min later (no phone activity), wake phone up, & there are apps running, apps i dont even use are showing up in my task manager, & i know in froyo you have to force close apps to kill them, & i do, but they pop right back up.

any ideas
 
thanks guys, but if i leave these apps running, my batter goes dead very fast, but if i kill them, i can get 2-3 days off a charge.

if yall read up on froyo & killing apps, its dif from 1.5-2.1,, in froyo 2.2, apps dont kill themselves, & have to be force closed for them to stop.

eg: i can open my task app, & see whats running, then i can say, open astro, do what i need to do, exit the app, go to task app, & its still running, & ive left it there before, & even the next day, its still running, & only stops running til i kill it, same w/ other apps i open, they always stay running, unless i kill them.

why would i want my say, youtube, last.fm, etc, running all the time, b/c they sure dont kill themselves, & will continue to run in the background until i kill them

so, im at a loss,,, if i dont kill them, my phone dies faster, runs slower, but if i kill them, batter last longer, & phone runs faster

yes, i do monitor my memory, & yes the apps are eating my memory
 
It does not actually keep using CPU cycles though, even if it looks like it is "running" on your system unless the process is designed to ACTUALLY keep running in the background like an instant messenger or something. Android is Linux based and it manages applications differently than say a Windows type operating system would.

The best advice I can give you is to really try to avoid the use of task killers. They can cause more harm than good.

Instead of using a TK, why don't you go into manage applications, running services and do things from there. Much simpler process if I want to kill an app, imo

I'd be curious to know what you've been reading, because I have been reading up and have absolutely not been getting any sort of impression that they've changed the nature of Linux.

in the market, & a few of my apps, state that they cant be killed like in older versions of android, in froyo, they need to be force closed

im not disagreeing w/ yall, im just telling yall that leaving apps running makes my phone battery die faster & run slower.

when i was on 2.1, a game i have closes itself when i exit the app, its not in my app list in task killer, but now on 2.2, the game will stay running in the background til i force close it, & its even in the running services, & eats up memory

a few days ago, yall can go back & see post, i didnt/forgot to kill running apps & i woke up to a dead phone, & now when i kill "force close" apps, i can wake up to a battery @ 95% full:confused:

could this maybe a CM6 thing?

You can kill any running app through running process, in manage applications

I bet if you uninstall the TK, your battery life will improve;)

CM6 thing? I don't kill any apps and my battery life is great:)

Not to be insulting but it's worth asking.
You do realize that your task killer is running in the background and killing things all the time, right?
At the very least, tell it to kill itself after you shut down the offending apps.
