Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

AH HA! So you've been around awhile then!! LOL. I just noticed your stats and see the you joined in 2011. Guess I should have looked at that before ASS-uming you were new to the forum. (facepalm) :D Well nice to finally meet you! :)

I see you've also tried a good many of the ROMs in here. I agree with you on the CM9 Kang too. That ROM has so much potential only to be stopped by freaking drivers. It's a d*mn shame. Oh 1 more thing, 187 is TheSkater's. LOL :p

Getting late and I've got to fill out a hire packet for a drug and alcohol counselor position in the morning. Interviewed yesterday, went well and it looks like I may just have myself a new job. Wish me luck!

Later bro. :)

Good luck brotha.

The Skater seems pretty cool - especially when your installing his ROM, and you get the second-to-last message "...you just bricked your phone...", followed by "Only kidding lol...". Nice effort from 'Da Skateman'; by the way, Skate, if you ever need any theme sounds - musical vignettes to make the ROM experience more surreal, with original alert, alarm, and ringtones - got a home studio (32-bit wordlength, and HIGH sampling rates), a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation, keyboard-based) with lots of tracks and polyphony; guitars, vocals of any male tenor type - even choral (I do sing and play, professionally) - let me know if I can be a part of your team (note: all sounds will be converted to decent bit-rate mp3 files, for memory's sake). The Skater... forgive me for not giving you due credit for 187 - your friend, LW

Best of luck; with your positive vibe, you should be a shoo-in; I had my own rehab experience in 1987, from the Devil's Dandruff - haven't been back since (oh, yeah). All of my party days stopped completely almost 4 years ago - due to the fact of lifelong diabetes. My only concession to smoking cigarettes are Ego-T Electronic vapor cartomizers; no tar, no carcinogens - just nicotine, and I just went through a cancer scare recently - got caught early, and my PSAs are now at a .6. Healthier than I've been in awhile, and nearly 30 lbs. lighter. I play and sing like a boid - but, I've got nerve damage from diabetes, and 4 back surgeries - long hauls require a chair, and keep clots down, I use canes or a rollator. I refuse to give in... yeah, you got that job - LW

Good luck brotha.

Thanks brother. I appreciate it. :)

Congrats bro. Some of those habits can be very hard to overcome. I've been sober now for 3 years and I decided what better way to help another going through what I did than to become a counselor and give them hope that it's possible to overcome alcoholism/addiction, regain their self worth and the other things that alcoholism and drug addiction steal from us. I've since gone to college and taken the behavioral science and other courses needed to become a substance abuse counselor (CAADAC- California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors) and just graduated a few months ago. As for the job, I went and got fingerprinted, and all that good stuff today. Things are looking good and I hope to start Friday. WoooHooo!! :D:D

As for the physical part, I can relate there too. I've got a ruptured disc between L4 & L5 along with degenerative disc disease and a few other issues. I plan on putting off the back surgery as long as I can. I underwent chemo a few years back too. The results weren't exactly what we had hoped for but I'm still alive an kickin' and making the best of my life. Life is precious and like you, I REFUSE TO GIVE IN!!!

I appreciate you sharing a little about yourself, what you've been through and that things are getting better. After joining Android Forums, getting active in the sections, meeting a lot of good people and several great friends, I've found that many of us in here have a lot more in common than just an interest in Android devices. :)

Peace Bro. :)

As I've said (wrote) many times before - kismet can happen in any forum, as long as it isn't a cesspool forum where deviants hang out. You can be LBGT, whatever - that doesn't make you deviant - but there are registered sex offenders out there that give me the creeps, as I was molested as a child, and drugged/raped by my gay boss when I was a working teen in food service. That's what partying at an early age can do to you, and I straddled the 60s and 70s growing up (I graduated high school the same year as President Obama - 1979). I was insulin-dependent, and insolent (haha). Getting fingerprinted, huh? Welcome to your new gig. All the best, LW

Whew, that's heavy bro. There are definitely some very sick individuals in this world. As for your old boss, I hope the bastard got what was coming to him.

Yep, fingerprinted for Federal the background check, U/A, TB test, the works. It's looking good man and thanks for the well wishes. Hopefully I'll know what's up tomorrow. ;)

Sorry about the last post being so heavy; forgive me if I made you feel uncomfortable in any way. I see a psychiatrist, and a therapist - that should be the place to bear my soul, not here. My intuition says that the job you seek will be yours. Wish me luck, as I'm performing music tonight at zpizza in Raleigh, NC. This is my first professional 'Booked' gig since 2009... I'm a little nervous, but in a good way - the tenor shall Prevail (phone pun)... be well, bro.1386315379997.jpg

Best of luck to ya!! You're in my old neck of the woods so to speak. I grew up in NC. :D

Don't sweat the earlier post either man. Something inside you needed to get it out and that's all good. Remember bro, I'm a counselor. It's does a person's soul some good when things come out like that just out of the blue. It just so happens that part of this job description dictates that I counsel sex offenders, murders, etc. Those issues are out of my scope of practice but many of the client's issues were and are a direct or indirect result of drugs or alcohol. That's where I come in. Other issues that the clients may be dealing with that are out of my scope of practice get referred to people who are qualified to help them. ;)

Take care buddy and I hope your show went well. It's after 3am here on the West coast so I know you're probably sound aslseep by now. Speaking of which, that exactly where I'm heading. That darn hire package was well over an inch thick of paperwork. I've done several hire packets in my day but none of them even come close to this baby. It was a monster! lmao.

OK, gotta cruise through here, check out the new posts and then hit that sack.

Peace. :)

My lady and I are getting ready to leave to take care of her car, pick up my three month supply of insulin, and go to the gig. Nervous, but, that's part of the rush that makes it SO FINE. Wish me well, the transplanted Damn Yankee from Massachusetts, who is a unique boutique tenor... I've been in the South many years, but the politics down here are making a Jim Crow comeback... be well in Cali - LW

Wetbiker7, Lordvincent90, TheSkater, scaryalien, ocnbrze - my first booked gig in years went well. My fianc

Okay - here's a question about. CM7 Mod, and its ability to wi-fi tether - I run into the word 'error', whenever I attempt to tether direct from within Settings - ROMs that used to work with tethering now also don't tether, ever since my lady upgraded to Windows 8.1 on the new laptop - is this the Windows OS - now that they have been creating Windows for smartphones - effectively blocking anything that isn't running Winblows??

Try this guide:

I tried 3.1, and no soap; I tried 3.4 experimental, and still nothing - due to having no wi-fi here, I was using Barnacle; it worked fine, until my fianc

I gave it a shot and it failed both times via MediaFire; thank you, Lordvincent, for your efforts. Methinks Windows 8.1 exclusionary to Android folk; reloaded my fianc

It failed to download. Worse, we factory reset the computer and, Barnacle still won't tether - neither will Wi-Fi Tether, and Wi-Fi Tether Router; we have NO INTERNET, and is it the phone? Thanks... before Mary went to Colorado two weeks ago, we had working Wi-Fi tether - now, nothing. We have been told that its was brought on by upgrading to Windows 8.1; now, we're back at square I.

I thought about upgrading to Win8 briefly but decided against it. I'm glad I did because I've read where users are having all sorts of issues with it. Hope you get it figured out. I wish I could help out but I know notta about Win8.

Good thing Lordvincent is in here helping out. His knowledge base is very broad and has helped me out countless times. :)

I tried Windows 8.1 out on my new Lenovo s210Touch and hated it. I ended up formatting everything and installing Windows 7 Ulitmate x64 and Linux Mint x64 with all of the new Kali Linux network security testing features. :D

BTW: Hey wetbiker, thanks for the lookout on the rainmeter program for Windows. Got that running on my new netbook "Like A Boss".

No problem bro. The things you can do with RainMeter are insane! :D

I am in abject misery... after using my neighbor's Wi-Fi to download the PDAnet software for FOX FI, it would not install; I followed the directions. Went back to the neighbors; went to the site for further directions; still, the installer froze during "Installing USB Driver", giving me only the ability to install Bluetooth - which, the Tosbiba laptop doesn't have. I'm frazzled - my fiancee is P.O'd; any other ideas are welcome. Being on a limited income sux. Aside from PTSD & anxiety, I'm all right... anyone else have this issue?

I never used foxfi. I always used wifi tether for root users. I included the only version I could get working into my Rom. Not sure which version it is. But you could download the Rom, extract the wifi tether.apk and install the apk to your phone.
