cyanogenmod for Galaxy s2

That's because cm wants to be on the newest android version. I don't remember you saying u wanted to be on ics. Cm9 is ics..... or do you not know you can flash any of them ? That you can go to 4.2 from 4.0

This build of CM 10.1 (based on Android 4.2.2) works great for the Boost S2. However, I'd wait a few more days before trying it as the developer is working on fixing serious bugs and stability issues that appeared in the last build or you can use the most stable Feb 15th build.

You will have to follow the directions of the install instructions. And use the kernel that comes with the ROM... There is only 1 kernel that can be used with aosp jb ROMs... It's Chris 41gs. 41gmerge-test kernel. But you don't need to think about that. Just follow instructions on each ROM you flash

I second loving CM10. After fixing the permissions to get the camera working it is stable and is my daily driver. It actually fixed my issue where my stock ROM was causing my phone to randomly power its self off.
