Cyanogenmod question.

Hi everyone, great forum.

My fourth Android phone, my Galaxy S2, is now in my hands. I've been using it but I much prefer the stripped down Android over Touchwiz 4.0. I really want to install Cyanogenmod 7, and I have it all sussed out how to do that now.

I question though, and would appreciate it if I could get some help.

When I have completely installed Cyanogen mod and it boots, will that be it then? Will everything work with my carrier (T-Mobile UK), such as 3G and texts and calls and whatnot, or will I have to set these up manually?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, if so please could somebody let me know.

There are only a few here that have attempted the excellent CM7 rom on a galaxy s2. Unfortunately from what I have read it is not quite ready for prime time on this phone. I think you would get better feed back and support by asking this same question on the CM7 or XDA forums.

No. CM7 is still very much a work-in-progress so it's fair to say that there will be issues. That's no reason not to try the latest nightly build though - just ensure you have a nandroid of your current config to fall back on if you encounter problems.

I tried the latest nightly and couldn't get it to boot. I also tried villain and lite'ning and liked lite'ning best. I'm waiting for the completed build. Not fair to judge on an incomplete version.

Very true. Plus, without users willing to test these intermediate builds, a stable release would take forever and a day to arrive.
