Root dalvik heap

How did you change it first. (I ask that because you said "go back and change")
Via build.prop?

Well, what I mean is I'm not sure I remember ever setting it to the current 128m. Doing a little poking around as time allows here, I discovered that it is recommended to not have anything larger than 32m!! Soooo, I'm thinking if I can get in here somewhere and change that value, I may stop having these unasked-for forced closes! :smokingsomb:

(How ya been ol' pal?! Hope life is being good to ya! :))

I've been good...working (kinda)....
My rom (Decks Reloaded) comes with the heap value at 64.
Maybe your rom came with it preset to 128.
If you are going to ask me what does it do? Ummmmmmmmmmmm??????
I'd have to research that, so maybe what you see it set as, is what the rom sets it at perhaps?:D
Like I said, rom toolbox has a place to edit build prop. There may be other ways to do it, like via root explorer, but I dont mess with build.prop too much buddy! :)
p.s...it's warm here:mad:

If it was set at 128 then that's what the developer recommended. Lower it to 48 and see if that helps. 32 is just a number that's recommended for older phones, I believe the Hero could barely get to 32

I prolly won't mess with it then til I hear some more on the subject OR (just thought of this) go over to the DEV's site and .... ASK HIM!!! :D

Yessiree, it IS WARM! (Sayin' "warm" cuz I'm planning to go play golf here in a little bit! If I had said "hot", then I might decide not to go! Am I STUPID or WHAT?! (Of course, a cooler loaded with a few of my favorite adult bev's helps) :smokingsomb:

It's not going to hurt messing around with it, change it and then boot to recovery and wipe dalvik cache and then reboot. Give it a few days and see if the FC's still continue. Again, not all phones are made the same and unfortunately messing around with governors, i/o schedulers, vm heap, kernels.....are almost required to find the best set-up for the phone. But what works with one rom with those same settings will not necessarily carry over to the next rom;)

Thanks andygu3 for your reply...

Do you have any idea where I go to make this change?:confused:

All can be done in rom toolbox.
Also governers/schedulers can be changed in setcpu or sytem tuner, all available in the market...doh--play store...(I hate that name-play store):p

For some reason I have never kept that app - guess I never used it! But perhaps i'll look at it again.. :)

Probably the simplest is vm heap from the Play store. Change to whatever you like and then boot to recovery, wipe dalvik cache and reboot

"vm" - does that stand for "voice mail"?! JK :)
