Technically I think it does. You are supposed to wipe the ext partition before you flash and if you install a new rom unless its cooked into the ROM it wont be there
it will depend on the rom as well. some roms have a2sd installed and there is not need to flash dt. other roms support dt but do not have it cooked in. so best thing to do is read the op and the changelog for each rom.
