once it's set up and booted you can use terminal emulator or adb shell to run commands "a2sd repair" or "a2sd reinstall" to fix links. if install works apps have to go to sd. can't have 'some to partition and some internal." no choice. any lost internal memory is from dalvik (which can be linked) or data which cannot be linked with this version.

It's says my version is out dated???
you can update a2sdGUI from market. it's free.

a2sd was working great i moved my davlik cache to sd card..all was great internal memory went way low..(great) now the a2sd shows my internal memory back now(not great) but it still shows the davlik as being on the sd card ..so when i went into it(droid explorer shell) and ran a2sd check it it show error davlik on sd card and says to run repair to fix location of davlik..but when i run the repair all the files come up in a huge list and they all say "mv: cant rename ' data/dalvik-cache/system@frameworks@..blah blah..no such file or directory... phone reboots and back to square one...help plz i need to know not only the fix but the cause if possible... ty in advance

Im sorry I have not been following your problem very close, can you tell me which kernel are you running? are you shabby modded? which exact a2sd did you flash in cwm? and last but not least did you manually mount the system and data partitions?

ClockWorkMod Recovery V4.0.1.5 - HROARKERNEL 1.2 - dt_a2sd_prevail.zip and yes mounted them both... by the way my card is 16mb class 4

ok you want the other zip
the one that just says a2sd.

class 4 is not going to perform all that well im afraid.

And I sure do hope you meant 16gb. :D

hmm it looks like he changed things up, there used to be 2 scripts, one that worked on hroarks kernel and one that worked on shabby's.
I am guessing from this and what else he said one will do now, but it has to do some things to your phone before it does. I need to look into what.

I dont see this did you put shabby mod .9 on? or any of the shabby mods.
Not the same as the kernel.
Shabby has some tweaks on the system, and other such things. part of it is the deodexing of the phone.

last update made one version of a2sd work on all prevail kernels.
does nothing to phone beyond installing scripts and mounting ext2/4
open terminal and try
su
a2sd reinstall

not repair ... reinstall
also in terminal
su
ls -l /data/
ls -l /system/sd/
please post results
those are lower case L
not I or 1

Mr. Push can you open terminal and use the commands
su
df
and post the output? it's possible you're out of room or your ext is corrupt. also is the phone giving you any other errors? lagging? freezing? force closes?

I have a question. Install went smooth. open up root explorer and i go to data/app and it show me 512mb (aprox). when i go to settings is shows i have (had) about 106mb. I installed acouple of apps and in data/app it shows the added apps and less memory. I check in settings, I have less memory say about 102mb (aprox). I add a couple more apps and I can see the space getting smaller in root explorer as well as in settings. I have shabbymod .9, hroark's kernal, cwm. I also have Ram Optimization script For Prevail (the one murderousone posted about ). I also mounted mounted /system, data, sdcard. (which everytime i reboot it shows there not mounted, or atleast i again have to option to mount them.) and i did data wipes and cleared dalvik cache, any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

settings will show you how much space is on your internal /data partition. this will still fill up but at a much slower rate. some app information and settings/passwords are stored on that partition and cannot be moved with this version of a2sd. the betas include that function but i have not been able to make those work reliably.
dalvik-cache also resides on /data partition unless you move it to /cache or sd card (/cache/dalvik-cache or /system/sd/dalvik-cache is then created to accomodate this.)
/data/app exists only as a symbolic link. navigating to that folder actually takes you to /system/sd/app. just as navigating to /etc actually takes you to /system/etc.

if you open a terminal and use the commands
su
ls -l /data
you will see two lines that have -> in them. three if you move dalvik. these are linked folders. navigating to the location on teh left of the arrow takes you to the right of the arrow.

when booting into recovery, the only partition that is automatically mounted is /cache. that is for recovery use and logs. the other partitions have always needed to be mounted. they are mounted when required by the install scripts for themes, mods, updates, etc.
