Help 'Delete by selection' screen appearing when pressing backspace whilst writing a text

I'm yet another frustrated Desire S user, and have been able to replicate the problem with changing from portrait to landscape, does anyone know if there has been any fix for this ? I've had this phone since April and its always done it, initally I thought it was user error ... obviously not!!

Hi,
Just to say that a software update came through this morning, to Android 2.3.5, with HTC Sense 3.0, and as far as I can tell this bug has now been fixed! Got so annoyed at this problem. The update is a nice improvement to the app in general imo. here's hoping you all can get the update and that it fixes things.
I was using HTC Desire S btw.

After months of having this problem, finally googled it today and found this forum. To bad I can't get the updates for the Inspire 4G yet, but this is the exact same problem that I am having.

This happens to me too. I have HTC Inspire. My husband has the same phone, but it never happens to him. I guess, this bug affects only certain phones. I called tech support, they told me to do factory reset. I did the reset but it didn't fix anything at all, the bug is still there.
Some people say they told to make a video of it, but it would be very hard to do because it doesn't happen every time, only some times. I've been trying to show my husband what happens, but he haven't seen it yet because you just never know when it's going to happen again, and when it happened it's too late.
