James S: I got the phone on Contract with 3, around 2-3 months ago. I have not installed any updates that I am aware of. When was this update released?
Jon: I don't believe it has been released on 3 branded devices yet but should be release shortly. I am afraid I don't have a specific date as 3 have to approve the update before it is rolled out.
Jon: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
James S: Does the 2.3.4 update fix this problem? Or is the update for other issues?
James S: Is there a way to disable the 'Delete By Selection' screen?
Jon: No you can't disable that screen. We don't have any specifics on the update, just that it contains bug fixes.
James S: Thank you for assistance. I will contact 3 and inquire when the update is available to 3 users. Can HTC please acknowledge that this is problem and confirm via e-mail to myself that it is an issue that needs to be fixed as soon as possible? Other users of HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD have contacted HTC regarding this specific issue up to 5 months ago in early May 2011. It is unacceptable to ignore software issues like this for so long.
Jon: I am sorry but this is not something that I can do. I can pass this to the developers to investigate.
James S: I would appreciate that greatly. Details on how the issue occurs can be found here. Can this be forwarded to the developers as well. Thank you.

I hope this is some sort of progress. The more people that contact them about the issue the better. Fingers crossed they will acknowledge the problem and fix it.
