Root Deleted Apps From Root Still Appear in Menu

I've tried looking around - couldn't find a 'direct/useful/comprehensive-related post to this question (w/ a short secondary question).

Here goes -

I
I've used gingerbreak 2.2.1 (thanks to developers for your hard work :) you have been very helpful to me, and I'm sure to so many others, too) - and one thing to another, root explorer, etc - I've deleted lots of nasty bloatware. Here's the small(est) thing. Youtube gone, deleted after r/w mount and even a restart or two [how satisfying is it to see boingo go?], I still see Youtube in my apps list.

Also, I tried looking around to see if 'clearing a cache' was the issue. Doesn't appear to be. Any ideas what is going on here?

II
Second minor point. What is the process for moving downloaded apps into the main app list? Can I do this using root explorer? Someone mentioned buying the full version, and I don't know what the lite version looks like, but this is, to anyone reading this who doesn't know, a great program. Buy it, and thank the developer, if you want.

many system apps get the updates put into the /data/app folder, they also take up space you have to use so deleting them out of there will also give you back some usable space on your phone.
4 that I know of youtube updates go into there, as does maps, market update, and vending.

on your second point, while you're in the apps list (I'm assuming you're still on the stock rom, using the stock LG home launcher/app list), press menu. You should see an option to move items. tap it, and then you'll be able to do a long press on any item, and then drag it to where you want it in the grid of apps. When done, press back to get out of "move" mode. also from the apps list if you press menu, you should see that you have a means to rename, add, and delete list titles. I used it to my advantage to create categories such as "phone", "system tools", "utility", "internet", and "games & fun".

Alternately, if you're still going to stick with the stock rom, you can download other reliable home launchers such as ADW or Launcher Pro. There are others out there as well, but those two each have a free version and a paid version. I like ADW, but everyone has their own preferences. When you install it, you can then look in your apps list and find the white house-looking icon. I forget what LG calls it, but it's the app to switch between home launchers. Once you have an alternate one installed if you choose to do so, you tap that, and you'll see "LG Home" as well as whatever other launcher(s) you've installed. Just choose one and you're good to go. You'll find that ones like ADW are highly customizable, especially if you get the paid version. Any home launcher you try will have its own way of doing your home screens, the apps list, and even controlling the notifications bar (although it doesn't change the notifications bar). What's customizable are the different options you'll find on how these things look. hope that helps.

As for why the youtube icon won't go away, I have no idea. I tried renaming the apk to freeze it and it disappeared from my homescreen and my apps list just fine, and came back in the apps list when i renamed it back to normal.
