New update available OTA 9/9/2010

The new Software number will be 2.10.405.2

Update Information:

1.Android OS update patch
2.Enhanced multi inbox Gmail support
3.Improved RUS keyboard layout

i should point out that this is for Froyo, this is another update for phones already running stock Froyo 2.2

First impressions.... downloaded ota update via wifi and it took about 5 mins or so to install. Then upon restart, it did its counting upto 100% before i could use the phone.. Did not back up anythink previous, because im lazy. All updated to The new Software number 2.10.405.2. Everythink works fine, not noticed anythink stunning, however my HD video was improved (cant say too much, as i dont really use it), and phone appeared slighty zippier. Can confirm, the phone is quicker, well mine is. Nice.

I've notice that the keyboard now has the ability to have voice to text but haven't noticed anything drastic in the speed department - not saying its not quick but no different to what it was.

Holla

Just wacked my goldcard in and low and behold there is an update :D

Will post more once downloaded and tested.

Stock, unlocked, unrooted running Froyo. Downloaded via wifi.

It takes a long time to install, restarts a few times, then shows the lock screen. Type in the lock code, and it starts counting up to 100%. Mine is currently on 35%.

The "EN" button on the keyboard now has a microphone logo above "EN". When you long-press that button you get a speech-to-text conversion.

The lock code? What, is this another update that will lock debranded handsets?

For your information. My Desire was a vodafone branded handset, to which i put the stock 2.1 Desire rom on, then manually updated to the 2.2 froyo OTA update via SD card. Then updated to this new OTA. Goldcard was not needed, nor did any lock screen appear when i did mine. :Edit.: it appears my sd card, is a goldcard, as it was the sd card i used to create it. Sorry i wasnt aware

I debranded my voda handset to stock 2.1 then updated OTA to 2.2, gold card was required. Man im angry now

TBH , i didnt even think about goldcard till it was mentioned on here. Ive checked my sd card to see if the goldcard image was still on the card itself, but it isnt. I assume that the goldcard is not needed if you debranded, applied stock 2.1, then applied OTA 2.2 froyo update. Wifi and APN all working, as is everythink else ive tested. RetroDude - just apply the RUU (from the RUU thread) to restore your phone. You'll lose all your settings, but at least the phone will work.

You may need a goldcard enabled sd card to see this update and apply it , if your handset was debranded, and updated to 2.2 froyo OTA.

Ill go with that one if teppic doesnt get back to me, there is a RUU out with the update already installed, but you seem to need a password to DL it
