Desire Firmware OTA Update

Speaking of WiFi, how do you guys rate the Desire's WiFi reception? Have you compared it to other phones? Mine's terrible!

Hey do me a favour and log in to your youtube account (within the app).

When I do this the most watched vids on the widget are replaced by the word 'loading'.
 
Mine's perfect. I'm actually pretty impressed with it. Never once had a dropout and it picks up my wi-fi signal right up until I leave my apartment building!

I think I saw a thread either on here or on xda in which somebody was complaining about wi-fi reception, and the fix had something to do with his router... sorry I can't be more specific.

The stock rom is 1.15.405

You're on a branded T-Mobile rom, and unless you want to go fiddling about with it (can have unpredictable results, as this thread proves) you should probably wait until T-Mobile release their update. Shouldn't be long.

nah i was asking for my htc desire. i was reading all these 1.15.4xx and i was like 'whys mine so behind?!'...

thanks mate, yeah i should wait. i take it everyone with a stock t mobile branded desire should have the same software number as mine then?
 
So, for people with branded phones do we have to wait to get this or is there a way to download this thing and install it manually? I have a T-Mob (UK) Desire and trying to do a software update it tells me that I'm up to date on software number: 1.15.110.11
 
Just checked on my T-Mobile (UK) desire and there's a software update available. Told it to get it off Wi-fi and it's downloaded successfully.
Asked me if I wanted to install so said yes. Screen went blank for a few secs and the HTC logo appeared. Now it's got a grey phone image with green opposing arrows above it and a progress bar.

Added: Progress bar finished, and it sits there for a minute or so before the screen goes black and a similar check? screen appears before a reboot.
Appears to have worked "Congratulations! Your phone has been updated successfully to version 1.21.405.2"
 
I just updated my Desire. I tried switching the Wi-Fi off and on after the phone restarted and it seems to be OK. My handset is a SIM free one bought from an e-tailer and not a network.
 
I have just installed the OTA update and everything seems to be OK including WiFi. There are no issues I can see with the pics from the camera either.

Mine is an unbranded Desire with a Vodaphone SIM, bought obline via an Eshop.
 
I started freaking out a little, the update took it's time to install and I thought I might be in a boot loop. The moral of the story is not to panic.

No 720p recording, no DIVX support.

Text messages display the message count. Erm, looking hard for anything exciting here.
 
I just found Google Earth on the market! That's new.

Also, folders now appear to be transparent, weren't they solid colour before?
