Desire HD - Version 2.2.1 Build 1.84

Hi,
I did the automatic update through the phone to version 2.2.1.
Ever since then the battery life has dropped dramatically.
I now get around 4 hours of use (wifi + a few calls).
Is there anyway to downgrade the version to 2.2?

Thanks,

i just did the update too.. so far so good.. no difference spotted..
though the update claims to make system smoother and better camera..

can anyone share what has been changed through the update?

If it causes you loads of problems, I believe HTC will reflash it and downgrade it for you, but I'm not sure if they'd charge you.

I'd give it a wee while before you do that though. Sometimes my battery does funny things and doesn't last as long as it should, then the next time it's charged, it works as normal.

No update in the UK... so far the update has been pushed to the far east... don't know when it will be coming to the UK, anything has to be better than the 1.72 we have.. LOL

I just got the update notice earlier and wanted to check if it was ok to proceed. So is it safe to download? or wait a bit?

Had the same after the update... for me the problem was the f***ing HTCSense.com account.... disable it in the sync. setting solved the problem and got better battery with the update.

I got updated to 1.84.110.3 via T-Mobile in the UK yesterday morning.

I've noticed that the battery life is longer, the screen changed (more saturated, probably some sort of setting to save on battery) and the text messages/e-mails when it displays how many you have (1) is a different colour + font.

I haven't noticed anything else thus far.

id like to know how someone on t-mobile uk (above) has got the new build when im in the uk using an unlocked generic htc firmware and ive not had anything yet

I just got my dhd a week ago and it came with 2.2.1 build number 1.84.661.1 I don't really know what that means. I am in alberta canada.

Am using an unbranded DHD and cant find an sort of update and am using 2.2, build number 1.32

Yet I do a manual search and it comes back with no updates and says my phone up to date

Updated my DHD yesterday. Sound is much louder, phone seems faster, screen sharper, camera now has self portrait function which works well with face detection. Facebook now has chat and places. I can't comment on battery life yet, but I'm hopeful there will be some improvement with that too.

I had to reinstall locations after the update.

I'm on T-Mobile in the UK and got the update a couple of days ago, it went smoothly in the main, BUT!

My HTC Sense weather widget has been killed, it won't update over a phone network (wifi) works fine.

HTC support have been very responsive, but they basically have no idea why it is malfunctioning. I've done a factory reset under their guidance, but it hasn't solved the problem :( HTC have offered to repair it, but I'm reticent to send the phone to them on account of what I believe is a gammy update.

Any ideas boys and girls?

Have you tried another weather widget,is it just the sense one that isn't working

so does anyone know when the unbranded handsets will get the update?

Before when i had the Hero the problem was that the unbranded phones got all the latest stuff and i didn't because i was on orange. Now i have an unbranded phone and it looks like im missing out again lol

Unbranded got an update around Xmas. It was terrible and pulled a short time after it was released. The next update will most likely be 2.3 in May/June.

Nope... there is a new unbranded update, the 1.84.. it has been seen in india, austrialia, china and canada from what I have read from XDA... Europe does not seem to be having it for some reason... Just have to wait.

Oh yea, the unbranded version is: 1.84.707.2 so look up for that!!!

The only comments on the HTC site about the upgrade is "... Update: Improve system performance and Camera feature enhancements...." I'm after a fix to the 'sd card trashing' issue. I've got a 32GB card I want to use but have already upgraded to the, pulled, 2.2.1 so don't want to risk killing it. I've got the original 8GB card in at the moment and, to be honest, I haven't seen a problem as yet but it'd be nice to know if this 1.84 firmware fixes it.
