The esteem that was loaned to me for dev work died. At first I thought the battery just died as I had it in recovery or bootloader most of that day. Well after buying a universal charger, charging the battery etc, it will still not turn on at all. I'll tired every solution I have found to no avail.

So if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this phone so I can continue dev'ing for the esteem plz post up.

Whats sad is I think I abut had CWM figured out for the esteem when it died.

I have two extras. Where do you live?

Just an idea, but see if anyone you know has a voltage meter. Set it to the range around ~10V DC and touch the red and black leads to the + and - of the battery (there's a 3rd prong in there for returning status I believe, you'd have to look, or take a pic for me.) Let me know your voltage reading and the volts value on the back of the battery and I can roughly tell you if it's a bad battery. Do this after you left it charging for a while.

Also, if you have another similar phone. So long as the battery size is the same, and the volts are the same, you can try to use that battery. Sometimes phones will work off usb alone, with the battery completely out if that's the case, but won't power on if a bad battery is inside.

Hey PG I saw the step for getting crw onto the Rev....... its NO WHERE near as easy as say the Ascend. Ahaha Heres the steps for it and its a .tar.gz file [RELEASE][6-14-2011] CWM Ported to the Revolution 4G! - xda-developers

Are we going to have to follow these step or similar ones to get it on the Esteem when it complete? Or can you make it easy on us? Ahaha Please say "easier" ALOT of people are going to have problems having to follow those ahaha Probably including myself ahahaha

Whatever happens, we'll get there. If they say, "you must read this book on C++ so you can understand this" then we will know what to do.
