Root Development progress on Cyanogenmod7/9/10 Updated: 5/10

The current status of the zip is that we can get the ROM to flash, although it won't get past the bootlogo. I'm trying to get adb so that we can really figure out why it won't surpass the bootlogo, but until that we don't necessarily know. :confused:

When I try to flash the zip it says its a bad zip file and when I try to open it with my computer: i:t says its a bad zip so???

I'm a genuine novice for sure, but could the problem reside in the boot.img?

That usually means a bad download, or possibly a bad upload by me. Try downloading now, and see what happens.
 
Well if the download you told us about last night would have uploaded I would have been able to help. But my gf goes home with her computer in an hour so I will be computer less for 1-2 weeks now.
 
well i formatted my system,data, and cache then did fctory wipe then tried to install coming from stock build, when i try to flash it says
Cant open sdcard/cm--2012y blaaah blaah m3s.zip (bad) installation aborted

edit: stuck in a baby bootloop, just a heads up tho gonna restore to my backup
 
Did you download the old one? Or the new one? Even if it does install tho it does NOT boot yet. You'll be stuck at the LG logo. Best to wait til it's ready. :] And for the error you got; Bad download. Try downloading again. Make sure to use wifi.

Come join us in chat as we wrestle to get cm9 on the Elite. Rupkin also updated the 11/26 file just been overwrited with a newer version to address some issues. Let us know what happen.

Update 1: Adb support is still being worked on.
 
Nothing works Macfett. :] It flashes. But doesn't boot. Right now were trying to figure out how to get adb to work while were on the LG logo to be able to pull a Logcat.
 
Have you gotten closer to getting adb working on the LG logo? Have you considered asking the other devs to look over the project to see if you missed anything?
 
OK so i download and installed build 27, it has bricked my phone, i have not yet tried to unbrick it but it seams unlikely, adb will not recognize it will not boot into recovery and the phone reboots every minute or so. let me know if anyone else has this problem or would like to help via team viewer. PM me please

edit... recovery does work so my phone is not bricked. i guess i just didnt hold it down log enough lol.... anywho im trying to get adb to work to get a logcat if anyone has any advice

edit again.... aparently recovery works when it wants to, since i got it to boot into recovery once i have not been able to get it to do it again, and adb was not recognized in recovery either..

Lol well there's no way for you to get adb working, that's all on me.

Also, just so you guys know, A bootloop is not a brick. If you get a bootloop, don't go crying/thinking brick. Just boot back into recovery (you should always be able to. If not, pull out the battery for about a minute and try the button combo again).
 
i tried to boot into recovery last night, it would not do it, when i woke up today and tried it seamed to work just fine and tried to use adb in recovery, then i rebooted the phone and tried adb again. after that no matter how many times i pulled the battery out to try and boot in to recovery it has yet to work a 2nd time, I know i may not be a developer, but i know how to boot into recovery and it simply wont do it. i will leave it overnight again and try in the morning once more and hopefully for some odd reason it will work.
