Root Development progress on Cyanogenmod7/9/10 Updated: 5/10

i can't wait till there is a working CyanogenMod. I can't stand gb. I had cm9 on my mesmerize and it was fantastic. I'm up for some testing as well.:)

This weekend I will be working on a second version of the cm9 build to address the problems I had in the past build few weeks ago, that will literly put any Elite to its early grave. Just keeping you all updated on build progress.:D

Note: Build will not be release until it decides to boot pass the black screen and bugs are fix to prevent deaths to future LG Elites.

Update - Going to see if I can get Rupkin to develop for the Elite again. Also tweaking one of his old cm9 builds since he left it out for the picking. Currently the one that boots manage to get pass the LG logo and it seems like it wants to come on. Call 911 this build starting to show some type of life in it. Back to reviving it.

What to expect in v1.5 Alpha:

-Fix backlight flickering and button flickering light issue
-Fix overheating -10% resolved
-Boot up to home screen - ofcourse
-Fix freeze up issue when finishing booting pass LG Logo

Note:This is the to-do list.

More details to come on the battle with the LG Elite and CM9.

We are all on the edge of our seats waiting, even a hint of a possible CM9 ROM for the elite is exciting...if u get a build to boot to the launcher, I will be more than happy to test everything from that point on, if it would help with the progress. And thanx for the hard work...

julian, I posted an idea on the "I might donate an elite" thread about jetx2x and his group Team Osiris maybe getting with you on this.......they sound willing and very able to develop cm but don't have a phone. Just a suggestion........:D And thanks for your work!!

Off-topic:

Looking for app developers also for another project we are currently working on.

Wanted to let you guys know if I don't manage to get CM working on the Elite, than I hope you don't get mad at me. Been putting many hours into this project just to get you guys the taste of the 4.0+ life. The likes and support motivates me want to keep striving forward to get one of these CM builds to work. I am doing this for the community who once made my Elite feel like a whole new device for example Artine and many other wonderful developers, before I made my move to the HTC One V.

Note: Didn't want to get people hopes up only to be sadden. :(

Update 1: Updated main post. All the information will be on the thread main post.

After 5 hours working on CM build I can say we are getting closer to CM. List of bugs fix so far.

-Overheating problem been fix with new Boot.img
- No Freezes
-Computer now detects the device - (Randomly reconnects and disconnects)
-Doesn't show a black screen but instead a black screen with a backlight in the back ( Work in progress I guess).
-Boots pass LG Logo - Until it gets to the Backlight/Blackscreen
-Buttons now light up. 20% chance doesn't come ( Work in progress)

Basically the device wants to come on but something is causing it not to.

Picture of the Elite booting pass the LG Logo and just showing the backlight with a black background. Hard to see the the backlight on the Elite due to my Note bright flash when taking the picture.

Keep it up man, I'm unable to do much to help, but at least I can acknowledge the amount of time and effort you have and are putting into this. Truly Appreciative man.:)

Could the reason be that we need an ICS kernel to be installed? Or is it deeper than that for the problem? I've seen quite a few other phones have problems with CM9 that originally ran GB. And they needed CM9 to be flashed and then imediately an ICS kernel to be flashed for it to boot and run properly.

I had the same feeling last night when working on it. That could be the reason why it just produce a black screen after LG logo. Going to try your method better then not trying it.

I know whenever I was following development across OS platforms, they always had to have a kernel supported by that android version.
