Root Development progress on Cyanogenmod7/9/10 Updated: 5/10

Good to hear CM7 is working for the Elite, now it’s time to get CM10 also booting if it’s possible. I need to either purchase a new computer to be able to build and compile or find a program that will let me accomplish all those task on my Galaxy Note 10.1. It will give me the ability to experiment with CM10 builds for the Elite. This is mostly the reason why you haven't heard anything development related with CM10 for the Elite from me.

From what I read in this thread, CM 7 is not quite ready yet, i.e., no camera and no WiFi. I would think these two things would need to be working before claiming victory on CM 7 running on the Elite.

More likely you need data and WiFi then a working camera first.

Why not have them all operational and THEN claim a success?

If I had a vehicle that required repair of a camshaft and a bad windshield wiper motor and just fixed the camshaft and said the vehicle was fixed, what am I to do if it starts raining and I don't have a working windshield wiper system?

In any case, I'm happy to hear there is positive progress on this project :)

phenomx4 is doing a great job with cm7. The problem though is with our phone, lg mixed up all the files and everything compared to stock gingerbread roms. Stuff such as the status bar icon images and the camera files are jumbled in different places than stock gingerbread roms. It might take a while for the camera and wifi to get going since these are mixed up.

Looking side by side by phenomx4's cm7 rom and the stock lg rom, things look different. And where is all the camera data? It's weird.

Also it should be noted that there's some trouble with google wallet, but I think phenomx4 fixed that or is planning to quickly.

Craigslist has some real nice laptops and desktops for under $200 if that helps.

Run Linux on the Note 10.1 and you should be able to compile right? Dual boot it

You may be able to run Linux on that tablet. But there is no way you could compile on it.

I will never use Graiglist after hearing about the Criagslist killer few years ago. :vroam:

How would I run linux on the Note 10.1?

Are you never going to go to a movie theater after the batman shooting
Or ever take money out of a bank because of robberies?

It's not like you hear about a craigslist shooting everyday, I say go for it. Just meet in a public place.

But yeah, that link I showed ya had a guide I think. No idea if you can compile or not though

Don't discount craigslist just because of one nutcase from years ago. I've bought and sold a handful of items on craigslist, found rooms for rent on two separate occasions, and met a girl who I am now married to. My mother-in-law just bought a car from craigslist and has tons of crap she's bought or picked up for free. My wife got several jobs from craigslist as well.

There are a lot of flakes and shysters on craigslist, but it just takes a little common sense and a lot of patience to weed out the good ones. Personally, I think it's a wonderful resource for a great many purposes.

I bought a jeep on craigslist, they wanted 1000 I shot them an offer for 500 and picked it up the next day ;)

Your married to a girl you met off craigslist :confused:

I bought a Tesla death ray on craigslist and it ran on android 4.2.......that thing was amazing!

What I wanna know is, Who is this alleged Craig who is claiming that everyone's listings are his? How preposterous! Why, can't it be Xaviers list or Oswalds list or Frodos list, I mean WTH!

Back on topic again :)

I answered her personal ad and we dated for a while, this June will be our third anniversary. I want to make one of those eHarmony commercials for craigslist. Craig is a real guy, I think he lives in Sacramento or somewhere in northern California. There's a documentary about a guy that lived for 30 days off the kindness of strangers he meets on craigslist, it's really very good, Craigs even in it: Craigslist Joe | a documentary film

On the topic of CM; I've switched over to a Galaxy S2 but I have my elite still so I can test anything that doesn't require 3g, voice or sms/mms.
